I have nothing more to add.
This sort of oppression usually ends with people taking to the streets. You will be responsible for any damages occurring during the protests and riots that will inevitably follow.
A word of warning, there is already growing unrest surrounding the mismanagement of this issue. Many have already expressed their concern on social media
