Southampton vs Hull Match Thread - 29/4/17 K.O. 15:00

Are you abroad or in some sort of timewarp? You’ve been drinking for hours and are now going for a curry - a 5pm? Is your watch wrong and you’re just doing everything about 6 hours too early?

That was an utterly tedious game though. Still, 0-0 bet came good…silver linings etc…

5 out of 7 prior to that one. Not great but not useless. It was actually a good save and not a bad penalty. Not sure Tadic should be taking too many more though.

Lets all salute as we stagnate. I would prefer if we changed something

I would take a quid for Tadic.

Well I walked from Studland to Swanage and back again - getting my pate burned in the process, whilst Cobber got himself properly spastic and 22 blokes in various formations ran around neutralising each other culminating in the assist king assisting the Hull keeper in his efforts to keep a clean sheet.

Didn’t miss much.

And to think two kind Sotonians offered me a ticket to today’s game.

The only thing that cheered me up was that Fatstuff captained Gabbiadini whilst Coutinho scored wearing my armband.

Just having a couple of swift ones before unleashing pap on the reggae infused rum festival. Got to be better than the football. Laters!

Details Goat, details… that’s what we need, dammit. !

BTW I’m talking shite (as usual), as firstly Hazard is my captain and Liverpool haven’t even played.

Think my FF app was telling me scorers from last week.

Despite talking shite, Fatsod still captained a player that did fuck all.

As you were.

Off to rub soap into my toned and tanned body before heading out to drink and eat enough to replenish the calories burned during the 15km I’ve walked today.

8 pints*, 2 steaks, a strawberry sundae and a visit to the campsite hog roast before bed should do it.

*water, obvs.

Well don’t say Bazza didn’t say this 6 months ago, the man is a coach not a manager, he couldn’t inspire a hardon in a brothel.

Bollox Baz, bollox

I’m only saying this because I’m trousered and the spell check is on!

Ha!

:lou_lol:

Worst game I’ve seen in ages. Boufal, Tadic and Redmond offered very little today and as a result Gabbiadini got zero service, it’s hard enough when Tadic has an off day but when all 3 of your creative attackers are underperforming fuck me does it show. Looked nervous and disorganised at the back and just a general air of not giving a fuck. Other than a couple of nice moves that fizzled out, going forward was mostly slow and predictable, allowing Hull to get back and organise at a canter. Hull bossed the first half and only their lack of quality up front kept our clean sheet (Forster rooted to the spot for their free kick, had it been 2 yards inside the post he would have been nowhere near it). Totally uninspiring. I would rather have watched the U23’s have a go today. Fucking depressing. Only beer can save me this evening :lou_sad:

Got back from the game to find a message from the old man " Hi, I renewed your season ticket, you owe me £600"

FFS Dad, your timing sucks

I remember Barry and it left an unanswered question.

What kind of man goes to a brothel and hopes another man will inspire his erection?

Fucking weird if you ask me.

That would depend on what you want out of the experience.

Can we agree if Bounmouth finish above us then we need Silva in and Puel out?

So, guys, what really happened - were we really that shit, does Clod Puel really deserve the sack???

Well that was shite. I was quite excited at the start with the attacking line-up but it proved very quickly to be a false dawn.

I’m not a skilled football analyst but it didn’t take one to see we were being quickly closed down and out-muscled in mid-field. On average Hull’s players were 6 inches taller and 2 stone heavier…and they made it tell.

Redmond, Tadic and Boufal tried to tippie-toe through a Trumplike stone wall only to bounce off on every occasion. Tadic was particularly adept in making the wrong choice at every turn…even sent the pen the same way as their goalie was diving.

Gabby is always on the shoulder of the last defender and always ready to make well timed runs…sadly the well timed passes from mid-field were sadly lacking. He got scant service all afternoon…Puels remedy was to take him off rather than take off an under-performing mid-field man and substitute with someone who could provide the service…JWP perhaps.

This isn’t a bad side…it’s a side that out-played Man U for most of a cup final a couple of months ago. Puel’s main failing today was picking a lightweight side against a well-motivated physical side fighting for their Premier League survival.
