Romeu mom for me. First time for yonks we have had two clean sheets on the trot.

Watching the International feed.
In the build up to Romeu’s goal the taters commented about passing the ball back again - we basically recycled possession from an attacking area back then out to KWP who made the space for the build up - THAT is the second goal we have scored from doing that (last week at Burnley)
Pretty sure the old gits at SMS would have been booing/moaning about it being negative.
Really controlled performance again.

Fairly comfortable win in the end as the second goal killed them.
Decent performance all round I thought. The only disappointment is with Che Adams’ finishing! He makes hard work of some of these chances and I’d hate to see him lose confidence and endure another goal drought.
Also, how good is KWP?! Better than Clyne. There, I said it!

Lets not too ahead of ourselves, good performance over a team that will seriously struggle this season, we’re a top 10 team with our top half and bottom 3 arguably with our centrebacks.

I think we may get a point or more in one of those games if we address or the players address their issues that they control (positioning and putting a tackle in or not when it counts) and the manager gets the formation correct. There is a may in that though, Armstrong makes such a difference, really really rate him, his positional play and intelligence in passing and distributing are a class above.

He was desperately unlucky with that goalmouth scramble, and the other chance in the box when the keeper pulled off a brilliant save. But I thought he should have put away the later one when he was through on goal, even under pressure.
To be honest I thought he should have done better with that first one. He could have put it in the far corner or taken a touch square to better his angle.
Ings would have scored the second one!
I agree he is unlucky to an extent but still think he should have put one away. At least he is getting chances.
We should have hired James “the goal whisperer” when we signed Adams.
Beattie has Adams and other scoring for fun that year.
