The jury is still very much out on him and it only the 3 points thats saving him from more inspection about the performance, it was boring and turgid.
Much better second half and overall we deserved the win. Let’s keep getting these tight results until we can land a striker.

I was so hungover, I forgot we were playing at home. Turned up at St. Mary’s 30 seconds before half time.
I’m led to believe that the second half was a marked improvement. Perhaps I’ll try it every match. You’re welcome, by the way.

One piece of quality secured the three points.
Worst game Romeu has had since the first couple of games of the season. Looked absolutely knackered after about 55 minutes. I would have put Reed on around then.
Fonte was awful in the first 45 but got slightly better second half. Martina did ok in the second half. Held his position and put in a few quality crosses.
Good games from McQueen, Clasie, Boufal and of course VVD. We would be struggling without him.
Redmond did pretty well after replacing the struggling Tadic who was lucky not to be red carded imho.
Not sure what has happened to JWP’s dead ball delivery. He’s got better at almost everything else and his usual strength is shot to shit.
J Rod did well in the air and looked ok. How he missed near the end I don’t know. Looked like it was going in and he cleared it off of the line.
Happy with the 3 points and watching another Boufal cracker.
No pub after as we had a fish tank crisis. I saved them and am now in the good books.

Rubbish first half. One of the flattest atmospheres I’ve heard at St Marys for a bit. The Boro fans were a laugh, responding with “we spend your benefits” after we’d just announced we were paying them. Team was booed off by some sections at half time.
Boufal’s goal was pretty sweet. I’d disengaged from the crowd noise and whacked my headphones in. Was listening to AC/DC’s Shoot to Thrill. No word of a lie. Boufal’s goal went in just after Brian Johnson screamed “pull the trigger!” in my ears. I’m sure the fine people at Spotify can confirm this.
