Bielsa out!!!
I was about to rant about how the fvck we are so unfit & off the pace after what we did in & after lockdown, fuelled by Ralph’s comments.
Then saw this
We are looking to TWITTER to find a physio?
Wtf?
What gets me is Brentford rested their players, its a fucking disgrace that our aren’t ready, what sort of fucking excuse is that?
Does he take us for clapping gullible pricks?
Years and years of Saints bad starts - we need an October crisis to start playing
1982 was good - Keegan, Channon & Ball all gone, out of one cup, bottom of the league, two players in jail…
We started playing in 1998-99 in April the following year!
Plus we’re at home
Plus I’m also a miserable git
I know, in that era though we knew we were shit and didn’t have any of this #wemarchon wank, a simpler time and also far better and the Dell.
There were some ominous comments from Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl after his side’s Carabao Cup exit.
“We have to be very, very clear that at the moment, with the team we have, it will be very difficult to win games,” he said.
"We were not quick enough at any part, not physically and not mentally. This is definitely something that we should work on. We played too slow and we did not do enough with the ball.
“Some of our players are not as strong as we have seen them in the past. We have a few big problems but we know that it is a tough season and a long season and we have to get back to working well. There is definitely a lot of work to do.”
Close season 5 weeks.
Players on vacation 2 weeks
Percentage of players away for 2 weeks Int duty.
Ralph treated 1st 2 matches as pre season friendlies to get minutes into legs.
Not ideal. Not a meltdown until nearer end of transfer window
i don’t get it. It’s not as if RH isn’t aware of how the league / cup competitions work. If he’s saying the team isn’t up to scratch then he needs to take some of the blame for not preparing them correctly. Of course his comments are a sideswipe at the Board for not getting in any players recently, but he’s still got to field a team that, at the very least, wants to win a game and fight for it. That shite last night was so far removed from our form at the end of last season and the team is the same with one exception. So how does it differ so much? They have the ability and the technical understanding of the formation(s) RH wants to play and they have proved it, so why the sudden drop in form? Can’t be down to just confidence as they battered Swansea pre season and have just come off 3rd place in a mini form league.
The team has lacked a natural leader since Fonte left and this current lot seem to look towards RH for guidance when things are going badly. Like a bunch of frightened schoolkids look to their teacher. Maybe PEH filled more of a role in the Club than we think? Is Armstrong SO integral to the team that his absence turns the team to shit? Fuck knows, but these shower of cunts need to prove they are up for it on Sunday, although i doubt it will happen.
I’m trying quite hard not to think about Sunday.
At the very least they need to fight for it. I can take a loss, providing they show a hell of a lot of desire and fight and are blowing out of their arse after 90 minutes.
Tbh I seemed Tella appeared to hinder rather than help and it seemed Walker-Peters didn’t get into the game as much as a result - not that I’m a manager so will leave it for Ralph to figure it all out.
I still haven’t got over the sight of a barrel shaped, static lump chasing ineffectually down the wing in a doomed attempt to block the cross that Zaha buried. It was like a 1970s darts player chasing a greyhound, and I didn’t immediately realise it was actually Oriol Romeu.
This is where we need a leader on the pitch to help the nipper out.
Surely there is a CB and CM player capable of stopping the opponents play in the championship. We need 2 midfield players imho. A strong swift hard tackling holding player and an attacking one that can do box to box as well as pass forward. Defence as we all know is in dire need of reinforcement. Salisu may help but on his own I do not see him being a miracle worker.
