Maybe bring the tram back and weād not have the awful Xmas market up the high st.
āBritish Transport Filmsā were a staple of an evening out at The Pictures. Main feature film, the āBā Movie and if you were lucky a āBritish Transport Filmā They were documentaries played out like a mini dramas, something warm and comforting watching them. This one is from 1950, about Sothampton Docks and the arrival of The Queen Maryā¦well worth a look.
The saddest part of these pictures is Southampton must have been a wonderful City in years gone by, the old station (both mainlines), the bargate, high st etc etc, now its a wankpit.
Did she just jump over that gap in the middle?

We played around worse on The Veracity Ground back in the day. Mind you sliding tackles not advised but advice usually fell on stony ground like the rest of us. 
Usually softened by the piles of dog shit.
