Still, with inter-religious marriage I’d be keen to see the stats (although I’d readily say that that’s almost certainly a problem for all religions and certainly not just Muslims - I know/have known a fair few secular, lefty Jews who have given a bashful, embarassed smile when asked if they’d prefer to marry another Jew or if their parents would rather they did so).
The trouble with religion is, as usual, not the people, but the fact that all of the claims within it strongly appear to be a load of codswallop with no evidence backing them up.
But of course,_ if _you really did believe the claims of XYZ religion, then why (or rather ‘how’) on earth *wouldn’t* that affect your decision of who you’d like to spend the rest of your life with in a marriage? When you look at it that way, its really quite understandable. That’s why the sodding belief systems are so damn pernicious.

And take a look at your starting point in this thread. “Social Integration Is Not Working.” It clearly is in many areas and yet according to you it is a miserable failure. As The Ferret pointed out, we are where we are right now precisely because social integration does work and has been going on as long as Man has been around. We are all mongrels, plain and simple. Park Muslims for a moment and take a look at “us.” There is plenty of homophobia, sexism, murder, rape, kiddy fiddling etc etc being carried out on a daily basis by many of the indigenous population of this country yet it doesnt seem to bother you that we have a fucked up society of our own. You also seem to have a problem with “left wingers” and “liberals” yet I have not seen one person here of that percieved persuasion supporting anti social behaviour or law breaking. Their (our) only issue seems to be that we are not rascists or Islamophobes. I live next door to a couple who are white, Christian (well I assume they are because I have seen them in church) and British. They moved into the village a couple of years ago and within a few weeks had managed to piss a number of other villagers off. They now no longer get involved in any village activties, dont use the local and keep themselves to themselves. Would you accuse them of not integrating socially as you surely would if they were Muslims?

I dunno man, that seems a tenuous distinction. How do I go about accepting gay? I mean, I tolerate Strictly Come Dancing. I don’t like it for myself, but I am ok with other people doing it. If I was to start accepting it, I’m worried that I’d have to start watching the fkn thing. Is that what ur saying? I’m gonna have to introduce a measure of gay porn into my daily intake, to pass ur citizen test?
As a side note, I have a mate who spends a lot of time ballroom dancing. He does it because he gets loads of women that way. Not because the “competition” are gay apparently, it is just a great way to meet women. Mind you, I think I would need to be super desparate to dress up in spandex and sequines to get some action.

In their defence they do get involved in village life.
They help at the church fete, they organise KKK rallies at the school and if anyone looks a bit different they are always the first to volunteer to smear a dogs muck swastika on the front windows.
