Social Integration is not happening

No it wasn’t. It’s what some people were saying. We went through this last night before I got so bored of your inability to understand words that I gave up.

You can suggest what you like. Just because I havent seen it yet doesnt mean I cant have an opinion on immigration or migrants though does it? As for “wading in” I have just made a comment about what another poster said. I really dont think that can be construed as “wading in.”

What were they saying then? Again by they I didn’t mean all, I replied correctly in the context of the post, I thought it was balanced in the sense of them trying to find people for and against.

I really dont get what your issue is Barry. You start a thread entitled Social Integration Is Not Happening and you seem to constantly have a go at immigration and immigrants, yet you said earlier that no one is saying immigration is a bad thing? If it isnt a bad thing why do you spend so much time and effort picking holes in it? I think most of us see that there are issues and that the situation isnt perfect, but we dont seek out programmes that show immigration in a negative light or post endless posts about what a problem immigation allegedly is. If I didnt know better I would say you were a front for Nigel Farage.

Is what has happened in Slough any differnt to what happened to coastal towns in Southern Spain at the end of the last century. There was a flood of Brits moved in together with bars selling “Full English Breakfasts.” In no time there was an Irish Bar on every corner. I wonder what the local Spanish people made of all that? I guess some stayed and went with the flow and some, who had lived there for many years, moved out. Things change. Just because we are born in a particular place, it doesnt meaan it will stay the same for ever. Some changes we probably like and some we dont. In 1066 the nobility changed over night and the national language became French. I bet that went down with the locals! They had choices too. Stay and suck it up or pack up and go. Most of them stayed and actually it didnt turn out too badly in the end.

I vote for more Bazza vs Fatso interactions! :lou_lol:

I’m with Stewart Lee on this one. Here is his tirade about immigration. He and Barry are as one on the issue.

“Get back in the sea, you finned cunt!”

I have never said immigration is a bad thing, its a broken thing, I am not picking hole in it, its broken and not working. Integration doesn’t happen and in reality we have a 5 o’clock apartheid and for the sake of political correctness we don’t and are afraid to confront the issue, I am not alone on this and many centrist scholars have also commented on it.

Your post there whilst I admire the length was a mish mash of crap, I advise in asking a few direct questions so you don’t lose track.

Ah when all else fails pul out the Stewart Lee youtubes, what next Bill Hicks?

I have absolutely nothing to contribute to this thread except to admit to being an occasional visitor because it makes me smile :lou_lol:

But, Barry, he agrees with you. Let’s have nothing. Remember nothing? When there was nothing?

I’m sure you remember those times as fondly as me, Bazza.

You say it is broken and not working based on what? A couple of TV programmes. Immigration has been going on forever and clearly has worked otherwise we would be a third world country. We have had this discussion before. What exactly is integration? I assume because immigarnts find work, housing and schooling for their children that the basics of integration are working for most. Just because someone complains that they cant but Kingsmill bread (not a bad thing in my book) and that all the shops are Polish (really?) does that mean integration isnt happening? I have shopped in supermarkets all over the UK and have never failed to see our crap white bread on the shelves. I am sure Tescos and Sainsburys in Slough stock it. I lived in Maidstone for a number of years, any area with a growing Eastern European population. Yes there are some small Polish supermarkets but the main shops are still Tescos and Sainsburys. You say I talking crap. I would suggest that unless you can provide unequivocal proof that most immigrants are not integrating then you, my dear Bazza, are talking crap.

When all else fails? Loving your Trumpisms.

I’d rather watch an established tv show show me the realities than your lovely but naive thoughts, thank you though.

You sound more like Donald Trump every minute.

Ha Ha do I, I hope I recieve some of his wealth any minute then.

That’s hilarious @barry-sanchez

You would of course denounce the same show, if it’s realities disagreed with your view.

Here’s a reality i hope they made you aware off.

The 10 per cent of council wards that count as the most deprived parts of the country are now home to 1.2 million Muslims, around 46 per cent of the total. In 2001, just 33 per cent of British Muslims lived in Britain’s poorest places.

This is important because of this.

The reasons that ethnic and religious groups spread out isn’t easily trapped in statistics, but just about every study and analyst agrees that the strongest motivations here are education and employment. Most people who move away from the area where they were raised do so to get qualifications or jobs. The richer and better-educated someone is, the more likely they are to move and mingle, and maybe even inter-marry. To integrate.

So we know how to improve the situation, but seem to be doing the complete opposite. Makes you wonder if you’re being sold a lie, doesn’t it?
