We appear to be a well travelled lot. What do people think of having a travel section where we can share our tips for a stress free trip somewhere? We could also have some of those photos of tropical beaches we recently enjoyed there too.

Not too many tropical beaches in Amsterdam, but otherwise yes.

Flight to Taiwan (not on agenda) 2 hours
Wait to disembark and reboard the Airplane in Taiwan 1 hour 45 min
Flight Taiwan to Amsterdam 11 hrs 45 min
Wait for connection Amsterdam to London 3 hrs 30 min
Flight Amsterdam London 1 hr 20 min
Wait to collect Visa Heathrow airport 6 hrs
Collect boarding pass and wait for connecting flight to Paris 2 hrs
Flight London to Paris 2 hrs 10 min
Wait for connecting flight Paris to Luanda 1 hrs 30 min
Flight Paris to Luanda 8 hrs
Arrival Luanda Immigration 1 hr 30 min
Lost Luggage claim form 1 hr.
Missed helicopter due to Lost luggage go to hotel 1 hour.
Wait all morning for a clean room 4 hrs
Over day / night in Luanda Hotel 17 hrs
Drive to Heliport 15 min
Wait for embarkation 1 hrs 30 min
Helicopter to Offshore 2 hrs 45 min
Arrive offshore 75 hrs 25 mins after leaving home with the same clothes.
That Sir, is fucking hideous.
It’s pretty common for people to say they love traveling, this is bullshit. Why they love is being somewhere else, somewhere interesting and probably having someone else do their routine shizzle for them. As Phil has demonstrated, the travelling bit is a complete pain in the arse.
There is here…somewhere else.

I am at present on Step 3 of the above Itinary different routing this time
it will be same up to London then Lisbon then Luanda.
See if this is any better well it will be as this time it’s business class and not baggage.

I’m travelling Pap i’m Travelling. Currently at step 5 of above Itinary sat in Taiwan departure lounge.
Still travelling at step 5 in Heathrow airport waiting for visa, Time elapsed so far 27 hours 45 mins
Now at step 12 but substitute Lisbon for Paris. time elapsed 35:50

I have so far but have to stop as could be a possible breath test before the helicopter in luanda tomorrow morning. If the TAP flight arrives in time for me to check in.

Got to stage 16 of itinarary stay in hotel for a day as failed to check in due to late arrival of luggage.
Time elapsed at end of this stage 65hours 20 mins
The only good news is the luggage did actually arrive.
Itinarary is now completed arrived at work 75 hours 05 mins after leaving home which was 20 mins quicker than in august and I did manage to get a change of clothes this time.
Travel is not all its made out to be although going business class does help but after 75 hours you dont really care what happens as long as there is a bed at the end of it.
