Saints vs Gooners - Cup Run mk 2

As my first boss used to say to me, we have two hopes: Bob Hope and no hope…

… and Bob’s just left town :lou_sad:

Double cock…was always going to happen wit that side…

Good goal.

Might just give up & go home…the team selection hasn’t be set up for a win tbh

Yeah, I’m going to try to enjoy this in that context.

Frustrating but I’d like to see how the youth / fringe players react to 2-0 down.

Also keen to see what Claude can do to change / motivate a young and inexperienced team.

Their team is not all that. Need to get one back quickly!

Long’s touch and hold up play has been dreadful.

We need to get him off and put… Oh yeah. As you were.

Proof if anyone needed it that we need at the very least one new centre back.

I’m afraid Stephens positioning was probably at fault for both goals. Definitely the first.

Oh well!

great ball by Martina for Long.

this game is surely over already? Not really surprising given the team selection.

Night.

Jesus.

ooops Long gives their keeper an ouchie!

A better end to the half.

Reed looking tidy in possession but not so good at breaking up play.

Sims getting into good positions and his pace over 5 metres is great but poor decision making and control have let him down.

Given the massive game we had only on Wednesday and the injuries, I can’t be too critical of Claude, but I’d have played Yoshida and or Davis I think.

Stephens and McQueen have had halfs to forget.

Gardos looked sharp when he is set but running back towards goal and not in a partnership he knows, he looks a little lost.

The fixture list is just ridiculous so I don’t blame him for team selection today. Why the midweek fixtures? Stupid. I’m sure if we had fewer senior players out injured then there would be a couple more out there.

Still not convinced by Reed. And to be brutally honest I am completely baffled why Isgrove is still at the club. He is 24. Not even ‘young’.

Not having a pop, as I support the changes. Just making an observation.

As much as I hate losing, especially to the Arse, I reckon getting rid of this competition is a positve

Long off and Isgrove off.

Tadic and Redmond on.

Who is playing through the middle?

Oxlade Chamberlain
