Passive aggressive comments like this (and the “I’m not a miracle worker” one after Fulham) will do nothing to ingratiate him with the fans. He has also used “they” instead of “we” too many times when talking about historical results and records.
Factually he is obviously spot on, but it is all about perception and sending a message to fans. So far everything he has said has gone down like a lead balloon.

Jones was appointed manager of Championship club Stoke City on 9 January 2019 after the club agreed a compensation package with Luton.
Jones won three matches of the remaining 21 in 2018–19 as Stoke ended in 16th position.
During the summer transfer window Jones brought in ten new players to build his own squad.
Stoke made a bad start to the 2019–20 season gaining only a point from the first six matches. Jones was dismissed on 1 November 2019 after winning just two of the first 14 matches of the 2019–20 season.
Strange that he’s not made a great start here.

Once Lyanco finally went off it seemed to me that the players just ignored anything Jonrs had told them to do and went back to their old way of playing last season

This bloke has had, in effect, an entire preseason with these players with the world cup break with only two players on international duty.
He has tried to go for a big bang change when he should be nudging them towards his desired style of play

What winds me up the most is that Jones refers to his fucking club in the 3rd person during press conferences. The last cunt to do that was Redknapp and he took us down. This fraud is trying to distance himself already. How the hell is he the right appointment? If SR have anything about them, they’ll sack him today, admit they fucked it up and that they’re hunting high and low for a new manager.
Well hopefully the powers that be are as ruthless as the Tory MPS
I made this point last night and it sure as hell is infuriating. It doesn’t give the impression that we’re all in it together which would certainly be a start at this stage.

I’m concerned that post-match I understand Jones tried to distance himself from the failure saying it’s not his fault he hasn’t got the players to play his subtle tactics of hoof, chase and hope. It’s a disastrous cock-up by the Board. We bought players in the Summer to develop but needed a core of experience around them, which we haven’t got, or Jones won’t use. These players were chosen to fit our established tactics. We needed a manager similar to Ralph but able to bring a refresh to things, not one who, although he has a record of working on a low budget and developing young players, favours a playing style (if you can call it that - it just looks chaotic to me) that is light years away. The players find it alien - you can see that, can’t do it and don’t want to do it. Surely we’re not going to buy him a whole new squad, so this is doomed to failure and he has to go.
