The club have made a rod for their own back by announcing that one keeper will leave at the end of the year and we’d be bringing another one in. So it’s clear Forster is leaving so playing him ahead of McCarthy sends out a rather peculiar message.

Also, I doubt McCarthy has taken a pay cut so what’s the likelihood of the new keeper being a young back up with ‘potential’? Sounds eerily familiar when considering the signing of Angus Gunn.

It’s frustrating to say the least.
