That was some game. That second half was really good. Came out and took the game to them.
I think he could be better as a old school sweeper or sitter in midfield, ge doesn’t have the killer instinct in front of goal so why the energy getting up and down the pitch? Keep him aware in a slower more static role, he can pass and he doesn’t get flustered in closed spaces, thats a defo gift in the premiership.

Yoshida was massive today. Won more-or-less everything in the air and though he might look unorthodox, is surprisingly solid when defending against players running at him.
He’s a solid Premiership player and a perfectly competent back-up for a team with our aspirations. Bloody useful. Well done Yoshi!

Martina’s done well, he works hard and does a job but he lacks the quality and reading of the game that SeeSaws has.
Apart from anything he could do with a break, he’s been playing almost every game and covers some miles up and down that wing.

I’ve not really got anything against him as back-up, but he just has the unfortunate habit of ruining a perfectly good performance with an underhit back pass or a clumsy trip in the box. I know at the speed the game is played at these days it’s rare for a defender to get through a game without making one mistake, but Yoshi’s always seem to stand out for their obvious slackness.
He was just so weak. Too weak to give a penalty for the shirt tugging in the box and then so weak that he gave us what was never a penalty out of a guilty conscience.
You really know its a bad ref when despite massively coming out of the wrong side of his decisions overall, you’re actually sympathising with your opponents’ complaints. The moment where Inter all spazzed out about a foul being given on Hojbjerg towards the corner flag in the second half summed it up. Nothing given until we appealed loudly enough and we got the decision our way.

Also you might hear rumours that I shed a couple of tears at the end. But I can assure you that they were big, manly, Saintly tears. Contemplative, ‘fuck me, we’ve come a long way’ tears.
