Even by your standards of reactive, ill-informed bollocks, this is rather special. Let’s be rational here (and I’ll try to take your near-total lack of football knowledge into account too).
If all our central defenders were League One level at best, where would we be? Propping up the Prem, well adrift and heading for record low points and goals against tallies - that’s where we’d be. But we’re not, are we? Even if they were Championship level at best, much the same would apply, though rather less so - we’d be nailed to the bottom of the Prem but maybe not in quite such a cataclysmic state.
Our central defenders aren’t world class, but how many teams have a full set of three or four who are? A small minority of Prem clubs, no more than that.
I realise that I’m wasting my breath (or rather my typing skills) here, but what the fuck.

You are, our 3 centre backs are total shite.
So how come we’re not languishing at the bottom of the table, already relegated? With League One centre backs that’s where we’d be.
Because other players have been having the seasons of their careers ie JWP, WP and Romeu and covering up, our 3 main centre backs are not of the required standard, Adam Armstrong as centre forward isn’t of the required standard, our goal keepers aren’t of the required standard.
As an example to further my point, if we went down we wouldn’t sell them (probably couldn’t) we’d keep them.

So what happened last season then? Same centre backs, but we didn’t get relegated. Or the season before that? It’s possible that I missed our relegations in those seasons, and maybe we’re actually in League One now, where our centre backs would feel at home. But I’m pretty sure we’re still playing, and competing, in the Premier League.
Incidentally, what is the required standard exactly? It’s a phrase that you like to use, but never define. If our centre backs, keepers etc. aren’t of the required standard, then who would be? By which I mean players we’d have some hope of actually signing, not fantasy wish-list ones.

Nothing, they were shit last season. If your sole goal for SFC is to be shite and not get relegated I’d have some higher aspirations concerning SFC, how many centrebacks have we bought and how many have failed in the last 5 years?

When challenged on this, you’ve reverted to type, and just repeated what you’ve said with no attempt to defend or justify it. And, when challenged further, you’ve reverted to type further, attempting to put words into my mouth. Don’t presume to know what I’m thinking - you don’t.
Does it really not occur to you to wonder why the question of who you’d like us to sign gets asked? Perhaps - just perhaps - it’s because you never answer it. Much like what you consider to be the “required standard”. You’ve now named one single player who you apparently liked a couple of years ago - no idea whether or not you mentioned him at the time, though.
Your final straw man is frankly risible. I’d always like to see us improve our squad - we’ve done so with Kyle Waler-Peters and Tino Livramento recently, for example. Stating a clear and simple fact - that our current centre backs are not below Championship standard - doesn’t mean that I think they’re perfect or that we couldn’t improve upon them.
If you want to discuss something, then creating straw men and false dichotomies, as you’ve done here, really isn’t the way to go about it. Why not try reading what someone else has written, thinking about it and responding to it in a reasoned way? Who knows, you might enjoy it.

Just got here to read your “discourse” with old Bazza. I say I “read it” but of course I didn’t read all of it or even most of it because whilst agree with most of your opening gambit, I realised Bazza hasn’t reasoned with any of it.
My advice Dave is to say, “Yes you’re right Bazza” and he might just STFU. Reasoning with Bazza on ANY subject is a futile exercise.
It’s a long shot but it might save a lot of your valuable time.
