Is OāNeill looking for work then? I think that most journos would know that Eddie Howe was on our list. Perhaps he was discounted because he voted Leave? If foreign managers are such an issue, why not also foreign players. All clubs will want the best and it is their call as to what the best is, not some twat from the Mail. We havenāt poached a manager from another club and upset their fans. We have a criteria and gave narrowed down a list of names that we feel suite what we are looking for. Not so long ago we employed that well known foreigner Nigel Adkins. Perhaps more British coaches should get some experience abroad if clubs here are looking for that. Trouble is they donāt seem to travel well (Moyes, Neville). British coaches are not suffering because of some foreign fantasy. They are suffering because mostly they are not good enough. How many leave a job for a better one rather than get sacked and pitch up somewhere else to try again? Look at the international team, hardly the envy of the world and recently disgraced by the mighty Iceland. You fish where the best fish are. Will all due respect, managing Northern Ireland is nothing like managing an aspirational Premiership club. If the bloke is good enough then I am sure one day he will get a chance. If not it will be the Championship, and there is nothing wrong with that!

Dunno whether Puel or whoever gets the job will work out for the best, but what Samuel seems to have overlooked is that we have searched for a coach that fits the profile for how the club want to play. If there were British coaches that fit the profile Iād imagine theyād be considered. There donāt appear to be many that have coached at the highest level and that is the likely reason we havenāt gone for one. The guyās a twat.

Samuels is hardly one to write objectively about our clubā¦carries a grudge from the Lowe days when our much loved former CEO took The Times to the cleaners for deformation in an article written by Samuels.

He is undoubtedly a dick head. I reckon heās probably a Spurs fan, they are usually dick heads. Perhaps heās upset that their next manager after Pochettino will now be French? Ha

Having never heard of him before, I am actually very excited for his appointment due to all the positive press heās had, even despite the Martin Samuel piece and his overall win %. Just because Martin Samuel isnāt knowledgable enough about the world game to see past Michael OāNeil and Big Sam, doesnāt mean our board shouldnāt be and theyāve got enough right so far to earn the trust of the fans in getting the right personnel in.
Also, Iāll win Ā£50 if he is our next manager, which always helps with the excitement!
