:saints:🕴 Saints' next manager

Welcome aboard Sotonist.

That’s a very appropriate username for this board.

Curious to find out whether more than three posts will drive me mad with power.

Here’s hoping we do what we have done the last two times and annouce a manager that no one expected and was not on any shortlist. In which case, Gus Hiddink :lou_lol:

Now there is a big whoops for a team I follow from the Netherlands. My mind was elsewhere :lou_facepalm_2:.

He is the only manager to have won the title in the Netherlands 4 seasons in a row. He took over in 2010 and resigned at the end of the season just gone, but still managed to get a champions league place, after fucking things up on the final day. He is a bloody impressive manager.

Also maybe a little bit of loyalty, well he turned down an interview with that massive club, Liverpool to stay at Ajax!

Sorry, but he ticks all the boxes for me and the style of football we will want to continue.

He’s got a lot going for him. Falling behind PSV (during admittedly challenging times for dutch football) and some assessments of his team’s style as boring are slight concerns.

Given that Emery and Tuchel are unlikely to be options, FdB is a good candidate in my eyes.

FdB was the first choice of my mate Lee, who famously provides my footballing knowledge for me.

Almost certain it will be. Also he can step in and carry on the work done perviously, then once we have finished 4th, he will fuck off. Then who knows who the manager will be!

Thought FdB’s agent had said he wasn’t interested in the job last week? Maybe he’s done a Ron and sacked him though for speaking out of turn…

Southampton set to keep Graziano Pelle amid interest from Everton as they target Frank de Boer for manager’s job

Warning :- content in the Daily Fail…

All done then. :lou_lol:

We got what we wanted from Everton, and the ‘asshat’ got ‘Dusty Bin’.

Now to the future, and back to “The Southampton Way”.

Looks like a lot of the information passed on was accurate, from the terse and pointed Official statement, and the contracts for Erwin and Jan still unconfirmed.

Had a text from my friend last night:

"Hey. Loved your write-up, great timing, and travelled well. Thanks. Should be an exciting few weeks ahead. Will have to catch up again soon.

So hopefully we may get further interesting snippets in the future. :lou_wink_2:

Once it gets to odds on, it is on!

FdB for me as I believe it will give us best continuity. Does anybody know if the Db’s get on with the K’s. Just wondering if Erwin would stay and work with him…

I’ve been catching up with the SWF reaction. It’s actually pretty good with some very sensible posts, but those posts are from people I’ve never seen post on there before. I think this highlights that the majority of fans on forums are sensible people but SWF is dominated by a handful of incredibly irritating and stupid posters who have an opinion on everything even when they have no idea what they’re talking about. Those posters who are constantly on the main board moaning about something are also in the lounge sharing political opinions. Some people just want to type something, regardless of their knowledge on the topic. Basically, well done SWF silent people for speaking up and being imminently sensible in response to Koeman leaving.
