:saints:šŸ•“ Saints' next manager

I could have believed all that but the use of the word ā€asshatā€ by Mane puts a spanner in the works.

Does Jack get a special badge?

It has been remarked upon, both here and elsewhere.

Sevilla manager Unai Emery has left the Spanish club. Could he be on his way to the South Coast?

PSG bound, isn’t he?

Ah yes I see now. Its all very interesting as gossip but it doesn’t change much. Plus its perfectly possible that Koeman has a blinder at Everton and we have a ropey season

Its going to be another long summer.

Very much so!

I think it’s fair to say that Jack Schitt has produced the most popular content on Sotonians so far. It was too delicious not to share. I put the link on Twitter. Even Batman linked it on the other place.

It’s going gangbusters on Twitter. Loads of people on various places are confirming bits and pieces of it. There is some doubt as to whether Mane would drop the asshat bomb, but generally, people are saying it makes a lot of sense. Four new members today as well.

Good skills, Jack. The world seems to think you wrote some good Schitt*

* and no, that will never get old

Lol. What have you done Pap!?

I had a look on there and it does seem to have kind of exploded a bit. :lou_surprised:

Seems generally well received from the comments I saw, but a fair bit of scepticism, which is understandable.

Doesn’t really matter to me if people believe me or not. I’m not usually anything like ā€œITKā€, and have no ā€œinternet personalityā€ or reputation to protect. Just shared what I was told as I knew it would be of interest to you guys.

To answer a few of the twittery points I saw raised – I did get the impression that I myself was likely being ā€œusedā€ to possibly get the Club’s perspective on things ā€œout thereā€, but it does come from someone I’ve known for a long time and trust, albeit not seen them for ages.

But whilst I get the obvious Club PR angle – it was not an arranged meeting, but rather pure chance. The person did say that the Club obviously monitor the various feeds and forums, and would have liked to be able to be open with the fans on what is going on and allay some fears and concerns, but that obviously nothing can be said officially until all is done and dusted.

I did question at the time if they would not get into trouble for telling me all of this, and the answer was that I was only being given information that the Club ā€œwouldn’t mindā€ people knowing about, and that others already knew a lot of it anyway (Adam Blackmore etc). And, quote: ā€œit’s not like I’d expect you to necessarily keep it all to yourselfā€. So yeah, I’m sure there’s an element of the Club knowing a lot of our concerns as fans, and then someone seeing an opportunity (me) to offer information to paint the Club in a positive light. But as I said, it was not in any way engineered, purely a random chance encounter with an old acquaintance, that happened to bear interesting fruit. It was all info that just arose from a normal back and forth conversation, with questions arising, being answered, and just general snippets of interesting things being offered and followed up upon.

As for the Mane quote, I too laughed at that, and my reaction was ā€œNo way! Sadio called RK an asshat?!ā€ The reply was along the lines of ā€œWhat, you don’t imagine that he can pick up and assimilate dressing room banter into his own lexicon?ā€.

Makes sense to me. One of our English lads could quite easily have used the word around (lol, or even at) him, and he thereby learnt its meaning. I struggle to see that being too hard to believe.

But, believe or do not, I’m really not fussed. Not like I’m going to call anyone a cunt for not taking at face value something which cannot be proven. Which is why I suspect my ā€˜contact’ saw it as a good opportunity to release some good info whilst maintaining plausible deniability. ā€œNo sir, didn’t come from us. Just some random internet nutjob making up schittā€. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

But at the same time – for those to whom it all makes sense, it is a nice reassurance from the Club that all is well with the Good Ship Southampton, despite the seemingly choppy waters we’re currently navigating.

Anyway, I didn’t really want any ā€˜attention’ myself – it was more for a little ā€œSotonians exclusiveā€ – but like you say, if it’s on here, it’s on the public internet, so no worries. And it is ultimately a good thing if Sotonians gets some more good members from it. :lou_lol:

One other thing I forgot to add before – is that if my old neighour is correct, we should see some resolutions starting to come out early in the coming week, as dear Ronald is due back from his consideration time at some point this weekend. So things should now move quickly from here.

Fuck you Bletch. You do the quality of my ā€œphilosophical exchangesā€ a great injustice. :lou_eyes_to_sky: :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Anyway, I’m done being messenger for the time being my friends, will see you again soon when life is calmer. :lou_smiley:

Caused trouble, of course. It’s one of the four things I’m good at. :lou_sunglasses:

Seriously though, once you’d posted someone was going to post the details at some point. Thought we’d get on top of that before anyone else did. Besides, we’re good at sticking our necks out.

The Adam Blackmore tweet was cool.

I had a look on there and it does seem to have kind of exploded a bit. :lou_surprised:

It doesn’t really matter to me either. It’s not like anything was presented as the truth. We’re a sceptical bunch around here anyway, but many components have been confirmed. Turkish reckons he heard a less detailed version of the same thing a while back.

It’s up to them whether they want to believe it or not, just as it’s up to the club’s dark arts department if they ever want to use our filthy little back channel to air their dirty laundry. I hope they do. God knows we have enough shit to get through each summer :lou_wink_2:

Personally, I think the club comes out of this looking pretty good on that account.

JS describes it as a chance meeting but he was clearly targeted by the club, after extensive work by the inhouse Ministry of Information. They’ve profiled him as a fall guy and it can’t be long before he gets the jab from an umbrella when he’s outlived his usefulness.

…or, as I’ve already said, Jack is Ralph.

Jeez. Some people are soooo sceptical.

Whether or not there’s any truth in JS’s post, it’s certainly whipped them into a frothing frenzy over on GOT.

Oh how I would love JS to be even part on the money - the meltdown on their board would be beyond epic.

Interesting reading their take of it all, one lad even suggested that the dates and sequences are all wrong! They also claim we’re in denial about the whole thing whilst they seem to be in denial about the veracity of the information. Same as we are about stories about our targets I guess!

Before all this broke, and even during, they were referring to today as ā€œKoeman Eveā€. Apparently, Koeman eve is now Tuesday.

Shame.

T’was the night before Koeman
And the blue half of scouse
Was shitting their pants
Over Jack Schitt’s nous

Koeman eve, everybody. Koeman eve.

**EDIT ** The move is now Tuesday. This is Koeman eve eve.

I’m sure they’re right and it will all go through swimmingly, after all, managers always go on two holidays between agreeing a contract and announcing it, no?

Ron could have waited. He’ll have plenty of time for hols during the season what with Everton having no European campaign and the undoubted early cup exits.
