The Anglican Communion is far more liberal and accepting than others or many of them, this does need to be applauded but more work to do.
Off to walk the dog.
Cracking film that.
Followed by…
Oh and one is Christened, I told the Rev I hadn’t any faith and was jealous he did, it was awkward but he was sound.
“You either follow or you don’t”
“I don’t have any faith”
“one [child] Christened”
“it’s not pick n mix”
its its all rather confusing.
Its OK fatso - I think where Barry is struggling is differentiating betwen those who have a ‘faith’ and thso ewho follow a particular doctrine to the letter. Those that follow a doctrine to the letter, may suggest that thsoe that dont have no right to still have be part of that particular 'church/synagoue/mosque etc… but that sdeos not stop inviduals in having a belief/or faith in something, even if they no longer feel they can live a life that is reconciled with some of the more archaic (and human invented rules) of a particular doctrine… He cant grasp that there are some who belive deeply in a devine being (Muslims, Jews and Christians, do afterall worshipteh same God) but do not subscribe to the invented teachings… it is afterall how thes ethings evolve - splnter groups etc…the whole anglican/protestent church was created because of rule breakers… only 500 year ago which is teh easiest example… Martin Luther not considering Pardon selling particularly Christian…and having a bit of a barney with Rome… and Henry VIII needing a divoce that his holiness the Pope was a little reluctant to grant… Its how ALL this shit starts
Can you explain how we came from Judaism-Christianity-Islam.
I’d have thought the original people branching out wouldn’t have been thought on as still worshiping the same God.
Clear this up for me.
And to make something a little easier for you the Islamic faith is having a civil war at the moment concerning ones that follow to the letter and ones that quite rightly want to modernise.
I have no trouble with the differentiation at all.
It’s almost as if this headline is aimed at you Barry.
You never answer why you’ve had one kid Christened?
How about the other one, any plans?
Taking the veil.
I said how are they compatible? I also have said its a cultural thing as much as a religious one, have a look go on, there’ll be as many gay “Muslims” as there’ll be other people in society, of course there will be, its just if they’re allowed to come out.
I didn’t answer as I didn’t see the question, yes the boy will be Christened at some point don’t know when.
He’s also asked (twice now) WHY you got your son christened. I’m quite interested to hear the answer to that as well as it seems completely at odds with everything you say.
I haven’t it is my daughter, schools in the main and a piss up.
Good on you for your honesty Barry. CofE by any chance?
How’s church been lately. Bet you’re a lay reader.
Always honest, yes the CofE falls in the more relaxed of faiths, I was looking into orthodox Jew and Sunni Muslim lark but the spread and ale afterwards was crap.
Is that a question or statement? You’re good at this and come back 43 days later saying I’ve asked you a question and still waiting for a reply.
I wouldn’t know as the last time I was in there was nigh on two years ago and that was my daughters Christening.
You should’ve gone to a gay Imam. Very liberal, right up your street.
He was away that weekend having a jolly in Brighton.
He’d want it right up your street pardon the 70’s innuendo pun.
Ah…I didn’t realise you were the forums Dianne Abbott. Everything makes more sense now.
I’ve put all my opinions on here, still waitinf for Ferret’s answer concerning God worship and who’s God it actually is, ah well one day we won’t believe in backward Gods, any Gods for that matter and prejudiced cultural beliefs, until then I’ll keep on battling and fighting the good fight.
No one owns God Barry. It’s the other way around.
Don’t forget to keep the fight going next time you’re in a church.
