Burnham has claimed the Labour leadership is too factional, as he busily creates his own faction to support his leadership aspirations

I reckon Reform could save a few quid and not bother with a conference given just how much coverage Labour and the Libs are giving them at theirs

Aldi don’t seem to bother as much with advertising these days, since Tesco and Sainsbury’s decided to plaster the Aldi brand name and logo all round their own stores and tv ads. What’s the point spending money saying you’re cheaper than the others, when the others are saying it for you?

The interesting thing is that labour, in continuing to attack Reform, is giving them legitimacy. It’s saying we are really worried about this lot so we will sling mud - whereas they have almost completely ignored the Tories and the Tories are rapidly sliding into oblivion.

This was the week that labour could have dominated the headlines and starved reform of Oxygen but they keep attacking Farage and giving him the opportunity to respond - mental

They keep deflecting.

Going after Reform while destroying the Middle Class and scaring wealth out of the country.

Non Doms stopped buying stuff because they moved back to Dubai/Monaco Caribbean etc,

VAT on School Fees so they all overloaded State Schools, now Health Insurance - force more people to use the NHS.

Genius

Maybe she could increase National Insurance again while nobody is looking?

Streeting called for Rayner to return to government - the ink isn’t dry on her cheque to HMRC for her unpaid taxes. i can only assume Streeting is trying to curry favour with Ange’s faction and doesn’t really mean it. He can’t be that daft

Well Barry did say this years ago and was scorned for it, if you don’t listen to the core of the nation and not your own local echo chamber you’d have seen this 10/15 years ago.

Brexit was a forerunner, this’ll extend that.

If the boats don’t stop we’ll get Farage.

Farage hasn’t even said anything of anything lately (anyone notice?), he doesn’t have to, he can sit back and watch the country fuck itself, in the last 24 hours the news has been

Charing Cross police station

Synagogue attack

8 people found guilty of child marriage and assisting in it.

The country is fucked. Has been fucked for ages and it’s been fucked by the right on elite.

It’s not terrorism, by the way. Definitely not.

They are that self absorbed and think we’re that stupid we don’t don’t see the deflection and words they choose in the narrative, its that very thing that has made people leave Labour and the mainstream parties.

Abbot and Corbyn have done more long term damage to this country than people realise, whataboutery politics is a thing because of them, every wrong is compared and not addressed, this current lot are doing the same.

Modern politics has descended into farce and shamefully we’ll pay the price one way or another, their shut off secluded nirvanas will never see what we’ll have to.

You really should watch Have I got news for you USA on IPlayer/CNN

Took a while to get comfortable in S1 but this latest series is showing how lucky you are with UK politics right now :zany_face:

Firstly, it IS currently being labelled as a terrorist incident, but the actions of an extremist fuckwit are again not representative of a religion … and sorry, but those suggesting the country is fucked because of these things need to go back to school and work on probability and stats… as well as calming down on the ‘we are fucked nonsense’ which is the same BS that Trump and Farage spout to create more division and more tension. Naturally, as If by magic they then offer a solution to the gullible who believe their propaganda… classic tactic of the grifter politicians

What Starmer also needs to shut the fuck about is ‘increasing anti-semitism’ this is again BS. The level of AS has probably been the same for ages, but now he is adding the feelings of anger towards the Israeli government re the genocide in Gaza to this, which is again nonsensical… the two are not the same.

The problem is we have never had so much opportunity to spread BS, distorted truth, conspiracy, and down right hate as we do now and many with more extreme views are exploiting it to the max knowing full well who to target as easy pickings - those who simply don’t want to think for themselves, or question anything they read, see or hear supports their POV or even emboldens previously hidden prejudices. Our education system removed the concept of critical thinking years ago… why think for your self when the Murdoch media can do it for you? There was too much truth in the braying ‘it was the Sun, what won it’… and this has FUCK ALL to do with a ‘right-on’ elite. It’s the opposite. Its the simple fact that the media has too much influence over democratic decisions that all parties have sacrificed their principles to pander to whatever is the latest ‘concern’ - concerns stirred up by distorted facts by chancers like Farage I should add for the very reason mentioned above… desperate to find common ground with the minority of voters that hold the cards in our FPTP system… Whilst its always been thus, its now much worse given the shift to the extremes…

The only folks with any principles anymore are grannies being arrested over the right to protest.

The worrying thing is, these folks are smeared as crackpots by those for whom protest draws too much attention to their extremist rhetoric.
