Ha, sorry pap. The leaderboard comment was a glip, passing one.
The op was just me trying to work out the balancing of it, it’s what I do all day. I don’t switch off some times, v geeky. So sorry all for that.

I’ve seen the idea of removing the Leaderboard floated before. It’s not insane; I can see that it makes sense on a certain level. Hell, it may even deter people from joining because they think we’re ultra-competitive, or the Leaderboard gives the impression of cliqueness or elitism.
Yep, I reckon this site could appear a bit cliquey to newcomers, and that’s a shame because it could be off putting for some people. I recall a few years ago lurking for a short while on one of the other Saints forums - can’t remember which one but it could have been It’s Beautiful Outside - and decided not to join because it came across a bit like a bunch of mates sharing in-jokes etc.
I don’t know how new sites can avoid this, though, tbh.

You are taking this in completely wrong way. I am not that bothered about it, I get just as much pleasure up voting other people’s post, as you say this creates a positive forum, as people do like being up voted. If it bothered me in a serious way I would stop posting.
I would like for the record to say I love it on here, as I think I have said just as many times as moaning about the lack of up votes

Okay, this is my third post on this forum and, somehow, I’ve ended up top of the list.
Methinks the is some doubt over the reliability and validity of the points system…
People get signup badges, which confer a load of points. It was explained earlier on and has been like that since day one. We can remove those points if they’re bothering you, like
