Humanity, eh? A complex species full of emotion, contradiction and mystery. Right? Right?!!!
Not so, according to Peeple, a new app that lets you rate people from 1 to 5 stars. A bit like TripAdvisor, but actually reducing the human experience to a score between 1 and 5.
I can see that catching on deffo. I will enjoy writing scathing reviews on bros + rating them all 1 stars! Iâm gonna review all you bros for real especially Barry!
There used to be a Facebook app called Compare People, which was similar, but a lot more expansive when asking people to make comparisons. Who is kinder? Who has the prettiest eyes? That sort of thing. I remember being concerned enough about that (my eyes ARE the prettiest, goddammit!) but at least there, youâd lose on some stuff but win on others.
This just seems a tad reductive. Judge an entire person from 1 to 5.
I dunno if I even need that many options. I wouldâve been ok voting ppl thumb up or thumbdown. I.e. when HOT OR NOT was a thing, I only ever used to rate ppl as 1 or 10. There is no inbetween with us, ur either hot, or ur not. Except i.e. if someone was really bad then I would give them a sympathy 10.
In anycase it is not so much the rating that is good bout this, it is doing the reviews like on Amazon. I can deffo see this causing aggro when i start writing reviews on ppl critiquing their method of eating asparagus* or whatever.
Yep, the creators of an app where people write about/rate other people without their input are upset someone wrote about their (shitty) app without their input.
Sorry for the link. I still canât post pictures here.
Thanks for the laugh, thatâs a stunning misjudgement on their part. Iâm left with no choice but to conclude that this is their first time venturing online.
