Saints will face the challenge of playing six games throughout the hectic April period, and Romeu admits he cannot wait to get back into the action.
“Personally I would like to have a game this weekend,” the midfielder told the Daily Echo.
“We are rested enough and would like to play more games. We have only played twice this month and now next month will be very busy.
“We need to make sure we are physically ready for the challenge coming, though. It’s going to be very tough but we want to get higher up the table.”
James Ward-Prowse and Nathan Redmond are two of the 14 Saints players that have been called up for international duty this week.
The duo could pick up their first England senior appearances in Germany this evening, and Romeu is pleased to see his team mates on the international stage.
“I am happy to see them getting their rewards for the work they have been putting in over a number of years,” he continued.
“Nathan started the season very well scoring so many goals and he has been called up now. I think he deserves it, as does Prowsey.
“This club is about trying to get young players and develop them into internationals - they are both good examples of that.”
