The 22-year-old, who is a product of the Southampton Academy, has been on loan at the League Two club this season, where he has made 20 appearances and scored one goal.
Gape, who made one first-team appearance during his time with Saints and was previously Under-21s captain, has helped the Chairboys into the play-off positions in the third tier, and has now signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Adams Park.
Southampton Football Club would like to wish Dom every success in the future and also thank him for his hard work at the club.
Saints are heading to Carrow Road for the third round of the competition, as they look to embark on another impressive cup run this term.
They will need to overcome the Championship side to progress, though, with the Canaries coming off the back of a 3-0 drubbing of Derby County last time out.
"They are coming into the game with a good result,” said Puel. “It’s an important club, an important team, they played in the Premier League, and now they have the opportunity to play against Southampton at home and I am sure this team will give their all to make a good result against us.
“Of course, we must be careful, but all my players are motivated, with a good concentration about this competition, because it’s not just this game. It’s an opportunity to have exciting games for the future, and this is important.”
Good morning and welcome to another day of January transfer news and rumours. Plenty of money is expected to be spent this month. But who will do the most business? Here’s a look at what’s doing the rounds today…
Paris Saint-Germain are playing a sneaky game in the on-going Alexis Sanchez contract saga, reveals The Daily Mirror, with the paper claiming the French giants are urging the Chilean to continue stalling until the summer, when they hope to swoop.
The Mirror says PSG believe they can then snatch the striker - valued by the Gunners at £60 million - for a cut-price fee, as he will have just 12 months remaining on his existing deal. And Sanchez’s representatives have apparently been made aware of PSG’s interest.
Arsenal are willing to offer Sanchez a new £200,000-a-week deal but the former Barcelona forward has had his head turned by potential £400,000-a-week wages from China. PSG wouldn’t be able to match that but they could offer more than £200k.
