Afternoon all. We have a whole six, yes SIX, 3pm kick-offs this afternoon which includes Liverpool’s trip to Hull.
We’ll have all the goals from that game thanks to the futuristic powers of our loyal and obedient Roboblogger.
Our robot will also cover all the goals that go in from the other five matches between Crystal Palace vs Sunderland, Everton vs Bournemouth, Southampton vs West Ham, Watford vs Burnley and West Brom vs Stoke.
While we’re waiting for the action to get under way, here are some predictions from our writers:
Beware the recently appointed manager. Liverpool paid the price against Paul Clement’s Swansea, and now Marco Silva is making Hull difficult to beat. Manchester United struggled in three recent games – not least at Old Trafford in midweek. But Klopp hopes to unite Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana for the first time since a 6-1 win over Watford in November.
This time last season Sam Allardyce was overseeing Sunderland’s survival bid. Now charged with a similar task at Crystal Palace, Allardyce is hoping his new side can build on the midweek win at Bournemouth, their first league victory since the manager took charge in December, and compound the plight of his former club.
David Moyes’ side also drew positives from a midweek draw with Tottenham, but without a win in six league games, they desperately need three points.
West Brom have a consistently successful record against teams below them in the Premier League this season, especially at home, where they have won five of their last six matches. Yet Stoke, now with former Albion striker Saido Berahino in their armoury, arrive only one place and four points behind them, with good away form against teams outside the top six. The Baggies may have to content themselves with a point this time.
Everton are unbeaten in six league matches, while Bournemouth have failed to win in four. Eddie Howe heads to Goodison Park frustrated by the transfer window, especially as striker Callum Wilson will miss the rest of the season through injury.
Wednesday night’s chastening defeat at the hands of Manchester City was not the West Ham debut Jose Fonte would have hoped for, but his second outing sees him return to St Mary’s to face the club where he twice celebrated promotion.
While Burnley’s home record is inferior only to Chelsea and Tottenham, their away record is the worst in the Premier League. Watford’s victory at Arsenal on Tuesday was their first in seven league games, and they have won only four of 11 home games.
