It was horrible, nerve wracking stuff listening to it on Solent but at least there’s no buffering on the radio. An entertaining game for the neutral so they said, which has always struck me as an odd expression as the only neutral is someone not interested in football.
I’m happy with an away draw…good start to the season which really doesn’t start proper until the transfer window closes.

Good point about the transfer season. Also, we have started with injuries! Ryan was missed, and also possibly Clasie. We have yet to see what he will bring, although it looks like it may take a while for him to settle in.
A good draw and very happy with a point, I don’t know about how good our team is compared to previous years but I am very reassured with Koeman at the helm, we should enjoy him whilst he is here as he seriously knows the European market.

Agreed. I wonder if we would have won if RK was actually there today. Maybe his physical presence could have made the difference?

I managed to catch the first half on TV, second half on radio. Precisely the sort of fixture that we would see an increase in difficulty on (indeed, I mentioned Newcastle specifically). Fortunuately, Everton are next up. I’m hoping they are as shit as last year, at home, at least.

That’s not a holiday. That’s a sabbatical.
After playing well and losing in our first game last season I am more than happy with coming back from 2-1 down and getting a point this season. The comments at The Other Place are brilliant with one poster saying he never wants to see Targett in a Saints shirt again and the defence in general getting a right pasting.
Just **one ** of last season’s stingy back 5 started the match, with no Schneiderlin protecting them to boot. To then berate the defence for looking a little shaky/uncohesive/not the finished article at times simply beggars belief.
You can picture the scene:
*Face tinged with crimson, chins all aquiver, heart rate reaching critical levels*
“You’re CRAP, Targett. FUCKING CRAP! I don’t care if you’re only 19 years old! I don’t care if you’ve only started a handful of first team matches. Run about a lot and kick the ball to all of the right places! Naaah, don’t fanny about with it. LUMP IT, SON!”
