Mane’s been disappointing today

Nooo! Never!

Compared to his usual high standards

You’ve got to love that stoppage time! OK, Halo?

Mané had a great chance there. Thought he’d score. Great block from Colback.

Fuck!

Mané with another chance. Great pace, shoots wide.

Bollocks.

Could be worse.

We could be Arsenal fans.

That was weird and emotional, I thought they had scored with the fuck, then I thought oh no we could have won… Then it was as you were.

FT 2-2

With 15 minutes to go I said I’d be very happy with the draw but in the end I’m slightly dissappointed we didn’t snatch all three points

Well, given the circumstances, I think we did a great job today. Showed lots of fight when we could have easily crumbled. 2-2 is a great result for Newcastle away. Well done Saints, and well done Sotonians for being so chilled under duress.

A draw is fair due to our late chances. Any other day, mane would have won the game for us with one of his two late chances.

It’s an away draw…Hey, I’ll take that!!

I took a look at the other site at HT…It was like a different match we were watching!

Oh…And please Saints, try to hold onto the ball a bit/lot better in the next game please? :scream:

I just had a look now. :frowning:

Yes, as Lou said, a draw away at Newcastle is a good result, especially considering they were buoyed by it being their first game of the season under a new manager.

Always stay positive for the 90 minutes, if any slagging needs doing, leave it for 24 hours breath, think about it and then post!

No knee jerks on here please. Actually no jerks at all please!

Better than last seasons start to our 7th place finish :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Battling first point of the season. Looked the worst team for an hour, then seemed to have grabbed a lucky draw and yet ultimately should’ve taken the win.

Still, you can’t sniff at an away point and that Newcastle side is a different beast to what we’ve seen over the past couple of seasons.

Not to mention that we took a couple of matches to truly get going last season too - look how we flew once we did. PLUS we’ve got Bertrand/Clasie to return and are still pursuing new CB acquisitions.

Having had a fucking tough and emotional few days, I’m just so happy that football’s back.

Looking forward to the True Geordie’s take on the match. Twice a season we get a bonus video after the match. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Well done you mighty Saints

Good play late second half…Good old Longy…like Pelle…good headed goal.

Teething problems here and there…but onwards and upwards to St Marys and Everton.

All in all not too bad a point.

COYS

It’s often all about fine margins. If Yoshi’s header from Davis’s free kick had gone anywhere else other than unfortunately hit the keeper we would have gone 2-1 up, so to be 1-2 down a few seconds later was a real sickener that would have deflated lesser teams. It was good to see the battling way in which we responded - augers very well for the rest of the season, I reckon.
