Very good write up of the Salford event.

Burgon had an emphatic response to those who claim that “an Islington-based croissant-muncher” cannot appeal to Labour’s working-class base: “by the way, we eat croissants in Leeds as well - we will not be patronised by people from the Guardian trying to tell us how working-class people live.” He makes a credible point. Very few of Corbyn’s critics are themselves obviously attuned to working-class life.

In court today - is Corbyn presence on the Ballot legal?

Where do the Labour party go if the courts decide that he shouldn’t be?

Is Owen Smith the leader?

Do you have to start again?

I’ve been following developments all day. The guy bringing the case is Michael Foster, a Labour Party donor who heckled Jeremy Corbyn at a Friends of Israel meeting.

The Guardian’s Jessica Elgot is reporting from the High Court.

I think there will be uproar if he’s kept off the ballot, especially if the decision appears to be bought.

well if he is kept off, it will be the full stop on Ed Millibands legacy to the labour party - his leadership rules. I bet when he looks back he must say to himself “what the fuck was I thinking”

If he is kept off the ballot paper it would kill Smith’s challenge dead - there would be an uproar.

I read he would be allowed to gather the necessary nominations(51). Obviously this may cause other problems.

The law suit launched yesterday could have some interesting ramifications

It emerged on Monday that Labour is facing legal action from people who have joined the party since the EU referendum after the NEC decided that only those who signed up on or before 12 January could automatically vote.

Solicitors Harrison Grant said they had issued proceedings against the Labour Party “on behalf of a number of new members who have been denied the opportunity to vote in the forthcoming leadership election”.

More-recent joiners were given the opportunity to vote by becoming registered supporters at a cost of £25 each.

If the £3ers win the right to vote, then surely the £25ers should be entitled to a £22 refund. I hope labour haven’t spent all the lolly yet.

What a mess

I have it on good authority (i.e. mine) that if you include Jezza’s middle name in the anagram you can get some half-decent ones.

Desperate business.

Speaker Bercow: claims of unauthorised entry into Seema Malhotra’s office do not amount to a possible breach of Commons rules.

Verdict on the court case to be delivered on Thursday.

Breaking -Judge says he will deliver his decision on Thurs in case of Labour donor vs NEC. Says he will also want to know if appeal likely.

A good article by David Wearing in the Guardian, that I think explains quite well the need for change, from the membership and the country as a whole(assuming they could get the general population to think about it).

Pap can you add a link please, incase anyone wants to read it. Sorry, have no idea how to do this on my phone as all weird shit appears when i try. This could just be my stupidity of course.

I have just received an email from theteam@labour.org telling me that Owen Smith is the future of Labour and to sign up with him.

Am i about to get one telling me Corbyn is the future(for the sake of impartiality), or is this Smiths own team, rather than an official Labour party email?

labour.org.uk is the official domain
