Don’t agree. The cumulative effect of compromising ideology is the public having no choice in elections, faith in democracy diminished and fertile ground for much more dangerous ideologies to emerge.
And besides, “compromise” mostly means shutting up about something fucking important.
Only because we have been persistently told exactly what you have said… to undermine democracy… to undermine the evolution of parties to be fit for purpose as the times change… why the obsession with this Left /right swing ? All it’s achieved is exactly what you are so fucked off with the EU and the establishment about… fuck all for ten ordinary people and a load of wealth stacked in the bank accounts of the few… all Brexit will change is a little less wealth in the bank accounts of the few which they can cope with… and a fuck load less in the bank accounts of the least well off which they can’t…
I honestly don’t think this is a left wing or right wing thing.
We’ve been doing this democracy shit properly for about 90 years. In that time, we’ve learned that the public sector is very good at certain things and that the private sector is good at other things.
We know that the private sector absolutely cannot be trusted with some things, and that the public sector absolutely cannot be trusted with other things.
You do not have to push the dial all the way one way on everything. There is a perfectly rational case for looking at what has worked, and what hasn’t over the last 90 years and cherry-picking the successes, left or right.
I had to laugh that Labour are issuing legal letters about the NDAs, despite labour front bench criticism about the corporate world using them to cover up wrong doing
I shudder at the thought of what must be lurking in the CB Saint DVD collection, comedy section.
The laughable things are our democracy and the BBC’s slow destruction of any credibility it might once have had. It’s also quite tragic. BBC’s flagship investigative news programme being used to further a minority faction in the Labour Party.
The licence payer funded BBC. Comic tragedy every night of the week.
So you didn’t think the Labour party’s use of NDAs somewhat ironic given their very vocal outrage at companies using them
And McDonnell flannel about the reason for their existence was confidentiality was hogwash given that any half decent contract of employment has confidentiality clauses in them.
They used them to either get around due process when removing these people from post or to hide something. Those are the two reasons they exist
There’s a lot about the Labour Party machinery I don’t like. I am less worried about the use of commonplace shit like NDAs, which I’ve signed plenty of myself. Standard init?
Are you sure these NDAs were special, or new?
Given McNicol’s authoritarian tendencies, I would be entirely unsurprised if the NDAs were introduced as standard during his watch.
Bit behind the times here and obviously i haven’t bothered watching it(panorama FFS), but has no one noticed a familiar face?
The tearful Ella Rose in Panorama is apparently also seen in Al Jazeera’s The Lobby where Joan ‘lets call it a million’ Ryan(i do like that version of her name. Slightly longer, but worth it ) ties up a deal with Shai Masot(spy trying to pervert democracy, but that’s ok).
She’s also heavily involved with the apartheid embassy in London. I’m assuming that the BBC informed it’s audience of this glaring conflict
She’s not the only one involved. There’s a meme going round pointing out that Joan Ryan’s little helper from The Lobby video is also in the Panorama show. Fancy that!
Tom Watson has just been rounded on for his angry letter to Jennie Formby. According to John McDonnell, the information he is demanding had already been offered to him. She is presently undergoing chemotherapy. Could Twat’s On finally have gone too far?
Hopefully Watson has shot his bolt this time and exposed himself as a bought and paid for fifth columnist, working for a foreign government, doing everything he can to undermine the party of which he is deputy leader, with the clear aim of stopping it being elected under the current leader. Just a cursory look at where he gets his substantial funding from confirms this. And notice the deafening silence from Jess ‘look at me i’m an M P’ Phillips and Yvette Cooper/Balls regarding Watson’s attacks on Jennie Formby. I seem to remember them shouting from the rooftops about the disgrace of Luciana Berger being bullied when she is pregnant, which as far as i’m aware isn’t an illness, yet Jennie Formby, who is really ill, receiving chemotherapy for breast cancer, receives not one word of support from either of them. Some feminists them! Premier league hypocrites, a disgrace to the feminist movement.
