Another 4 years of Theresa May then! Momentum!
Because she’d call a general election immediately if Smith won, of course
Happy Corbyn Day everybody!
Only Labour could appoint a Minister for Domestic abuse…
Who has been convicted of domestic abuse.
Unrelated but was watching this week’s Question Time this morning and had to turn it off after the first question - Caroline Lucas proposed a 2nd referendum on the terms of Brexit (whether to stay in the single market etc) and got absolutely slaughtered by the audience and the panel for not “respecting the vote”. She made very clear that she respects that people want to leave and is willing to accept that, but wants people to have a say on how we leave, but the right-wing pitbull Julia Hartley-Brewer accused her of being a “remoaner” and that she clearly didn’t care about democracy because she supported the EU for so many years. Even Dimbleby made a smart-arse comment asking “What part of the vote do you respect?” after she’d clearly outlined her position.
So my question is, do people in this country actually understand politics? Surely the most vehement Brexiteers would love the chance to get to choose our terms of exit? Do all the 17.4m Brexit voters feel comfortable with the Tories making the decision on our terms of exit for them? I don’t understand the vitriol being directed at her for this, I think that’s a perfectly reasonable and sensible suggestion! Is everyone a complete fucking moron?
As if the British PUBLIC would get a say in the Brexit deal.
Seriously?
No wonder she got trashed
Fkin commie scum
People don’t understand politics. Look at the moaning that there was post-poll about the £350million per week for the NHS promise. How did anyone expect a _campaign _to deliver what only a _government _could?
Very interesting.
Wikileaks offers £20,000 reward for #LabourLeaks with information on how the Labour Party’s top officials have attempted to stop Jeremy Corbyn becoming and staying on as leader.
With our #DNCleaks, Wikileaks exposed how those at the top of the US Democratic Party had worked tirelessly to tilt the scales in favour of Hillary Clinton as she faced off against Bernie Sanders in the race to be the Democrat presidential candidate. Our revelations eventually prompted the resignation of five of the most senior members of the Democratic Party in the aftermath of the Democratic Convention, including DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Wikileaks is now moving on to the machinations of top officials in the UK Labour Party to tilt the scales against the membership-elected leader Jeremy Corbyn in favour of his challengers.

Well that’s been a massive waste of Labour money! Absolutely no need to have this election.
Corbyn won. Fuck me.
Breakdown as follows…
654,006 - votes
506,438 - eligible voters (i.e. take pap and his ilk out)
1,042 - spoiled
313,209 - Corbyn - 61.8%
193,229 - Smith - 38.2%
It’s Corbyn with 62.8% of the vote. It’s an increase on his mandate. Remember to add percentage points for the 100k that didn’t get to vote.
It Jeez!!! Get in!!!
Don’t forget all the money that is going to be spent on assessing appeals.
There were Owen Smith people calling for Corbyn to be killed, or calling Corbyn supporters cunts, and they still got to vote.
All the plotters have really achieved is to weaken their own position, damage the party, consolidate Cast Iron Corbyn’s position, raise his oratory game and gain massive exposure.
A typical New Labour backfire.
She got a police caution. I’ve tried to read both left and right wing news articles on this. From what I’ve read it seem that it was a toxic relationship and ended up in an incident. Either could have had a caution. It was interesting to see they met when she was 12 and he 24 (though not dating for another 10 years). That’s going to be an relationship.
I know a few woman who were the victims of dv but their partners called the police and said they were the victims. I also know men who have violent or controlling female partners. It’s a difficult subject to unpick at times. She appears to have empathy and understand the issues of dv. So lets see how she does.
Good noises coming out of senior figures in Labour about working together now - quite why a second vote was needed to get behind a leader is a bit beyond me but hopefully we see an improvement!
At least she knows a bit about it though…
I wonder if May will call an election next summer?
