Maynority government

So when you get into the detail you discover that Hampshire and other forces will have to make further cuts to support this U-turn!

Weak and indecisive.

The DUP deal is in doubt, apparently. That’s an interesting thing to announce on the eve of the Queen’s Speech.

I think that deep down even Theresa May must know that a deal with the DUP is pretty much dead in the water. Even if she was stupid enough to make one, it has been announced that she will face a legal challenge on the grounds it breaches the Good Friday Agreement. High court judges would be asked to consider whether the government would be in breach of it’s commitment to exercise "rigorous impartiality"as part of the Good Friday agreement. Another shocking misjudgement from Mummy, anyone of average intelligence could see this coming. In her desperation to cling on to power she has managed to delude herself that stubbornly refusing to acknowledge the bleeding obvious and standing firm are the same thing! Does she really that this comes across as ‘strong and stable’? Sadly, i suspect she probably does.

May would undoubtedly lose in court, and rightly so. A deal to prop up the government by one side in NI, a deal obtained by giving sweeteners, ( lets call it what it is, bribery) to one side in NI can in no way be squared with the government’s commitment to exercise “rigorous impartiality” as part of the Good Friday Agreement.

Time for her and her tainted government to go, what this country needs now is a government that cares about the people of this country, instead of the corporations and the elitist 5%.

Another story, this time from BBC saying DUP trying to exert influence on the Tories.

Looks like May’s plans are unravelling - I can bear that with great fortitude

So it looks like if the Conservatives are going to have to fight another election, they’re going to look at reducing austerity as this election has taught them that the cuts have gone far enough - as quite a few of us said in 2015. Get ready to see the Tories take on a lot of Liberal and even the odd Labour policy to get back the middle classes that they lost in this election.

Anything that gets rid of May though gets a vote in my book.

Who would you replace her with?

A fucking spaniel would be an improvement.

I don’t mind Dominic Raab myself, although I know he had a ‘controversial’* view on food banks.

Other than that, Ruth Davidson is bloody impressive, and would do very well as leader.

*wasnt really controversial, he quoted statistics by the Trussel Trust and was taken out of context by the left media (as many left wing quotes were taken out of context), although maybe could have explained them better.

Exactly, and she still won by a decent margin…

I doubt Raab has a hope, but nothing would surprise me.

Keep hearing Davidson. Wouldn’t she lose English votes? Lots of Tory voters don’t like Scots or lesbians(religious idiots).

He’s young, which always help nowadays.

I can’t see the lesbian thing being an issue as a lot of people wouldn’t know…voters here really are very dense when it comes to stuff like that. She’s also very, very good.

We should get her in as the next Saints’ manager then, that would be a progressive move… :lou_eyes_to_sky:

I thought the same when @saint-or-sinner asked the question, unless the Sun/Mail play it on I don’t think a lot of people would know (or care).

I certainly didn’t know she was.

Probably right about the voters, as Bob said, i doubt the gutter press will make an issue of it. It’s going to be harder to hide that she’s a Scot(or is she already being taught to hide her accent).

I do honestly believe a lot of older tory voters would not be happy with a lesbian in charge of the party and they are normally more clued up about politics.

She’d be better than some of the people mentioned.

Be nice if these are no longer thought of as policies. Shows what a fuck up May made of the election though. Should be a dead woman walking.

hardly surprising that there is the thick end of fuck all in that. The controversial stuff had to go as she doesn’t have the seats to get it through

Why do so many people on social media consider that anyone who protests about poor housing or austerity cuts to the NHS or policing and fire services, has to be a militant or a scrounger?

Perhaps some protesters didn’t enjoy watching their family burn?

Or maybe they didn’t like seeing their grandparents die on a bed in a fucking corridor?

Everyone will have their reason for wanting change.

Either way, behind the great community spirit of Manchester and London, I’m ashamed that we still look like a country with a nasty side that is driven by stupidity, greed, selfishness and hate.
