You feeling ok Baz??
He said âtheyâ not âweâ though.
I think he is suffering from âwe played wellâ syndrome
No shame there. Would have been interesting if the ref had given either of our penalty shouts.
The nuns helped with the pen I am sure, but not enough today when playing a homer of a Ref⌠but lads played well and should give us more confidence - Play like that agains Spurs and we will get 3 points
Sol Bamba was stretchered off for Cardiff.
Because thatâs the correct grammar. They played the game.
Youâll be lucky. At Old Trafford, in front of the Stretford End? Referees are fully professional now, well paid, itâs long past time when they should be confronted by the media with footage of their decisions and made to explain why they made them, just as managers and players are when they fuck up. The blatant shirt tug on Bertrand, in front of the referee who just waved it away. He must have seen it, so why didnât he give it? Does anyone seriously believe that it wouldnât have been given if it had happened at the other end? Lack of moral fibre by todays refs, which is goes a long way to explaining why the likes of Man U and the other so called top six big clubs always end up at the top. Clubs like The Saints just canât compete.
Rant over, what a good performance by the Saints, very unlucky not to get anything out of that. A bit worrying though that, like the two goals against Fulham which were scored by midfielders, todays scored by a full back and another midfielder. Of course i will take them from wherever they come from but our lack of a proper striker is worrying. I have always been a fan of JWP, his treatment by Hughes was a disgrace IMO. It looks like Hassenhutl has recognized his worth and bolstered his confidence. The downside of this is that i wouldnât be at all surprised to see one of those so called bigger clubs coming in for him in the summer. He is unquestionably one of the leading dead ball deliverers and free kick specialists in the Prem, if not the best. It wouldnât surprise me at all if he was coveted by other clubs.
Youâre preaching to the converted, Iâm well aware no ref was ever going to give either of those against one of the big four at home. Just saying it would have been interesting if he had.
Definitely one penalty denied and an offside goal per MOTDâŚ
Not that it helps us today, but will be interesting to see how VAR affects the bias towards the big clubs in the prem over the next few seasons.
I predict not one fucking jot. Most decisions turned over to var will be when a goal against one of the big six might stand a chance of being overruled, not the other way round. Clubs like us will reap the benefit only when the big side already has the match sewn up, like our home game against citeh this season (I know var wasnât used, I mean in the sense that the ref only started giving us any decisions after the game was won. Until then all the decisions went citehs way.)
When VAR comes in there should be a league table for referees. Relegate the shit fuckers.
After denying us on two occasions, (one of which was blatant) I cannot believe he had the audacity to give them one. What a cunt.
Great performance, unlucky not to get something out of the game (yes, looking at you ref).
Off topic - isnât it just time to scrap the offside rule once and for all?
The most surprising thing from yesterday is how surprised saints fans are that manure got a soft penalty & a homer ref.
You live in the naive hope that one day things will change.
On top of the shite and biased refereeing, Utd were lucky with getting favourable little knicks off of our players which turned their average passes in to favourable ones. Like Lukakuâs winner. The deflection on the pass meant he could simply turn and hit it whereas the original pass was destined for his feet with back to goal.
I feel aggrieved but not surprised.
Good performance from the lads and that bodes well for the rest of the season if we can keep up that level of intensity.
