Apparently one of the teams has bought up all of this new lactate gel that gives several % points of extra performance particularly in the mountains
Don’t think Pog will have such an easy task this year - he is fit and probably better than ever but Jonas is back close to his best - could be one for the ages
also they end with the laps of monmartre again - it was brilliant last year when Pog could have sat in the peloton but went in the break to try and win it

Oh yeah, comes a time when
A few years back when I as still cycling about 10,000+ Km a year, I got badly stung by a wasp near the eye… It swelled a bit since I went across the road to a pharmacy to ask for some antihistamines… I should have know something was bit wrong when everyone was staring at me and the look of concern on the pharmacists face as she said, its a little late for that, wait here whilst I call the local GPs… needles to say I wa asked to pop over where I received some sort of steroid injection and was given 3 days worth of prednisolone… as I had had an allergic reaction… the following 3 days I went on my usual daily 45km circuit… and added more than 2kmh average to my speed! - Point is they do work very well
These low dose steroids really help in training as you dont feel pain and you dont feel the fatigue and so I just kept going at the higher pace for longer… I felt tremendous
