Umm, absolutely, receiving a service for which you haven’t paid the copyright holder is theft, pure and simple!!
Interestingly there is a loophole in Indian law that you can broadcast stuff for which you don’t have the copyright if it’s for educational purposes. So what they do is put Indian Subtitles on films and the such like and claim it’s for teaching English
Streaming isn’t illegal, it’s a gray area as you’re stealing nothing, downloading is however.
Football is corrupt to the core so quite frankly bollocks and I say this as a legislate subscriber of services, we shouldn’t be paying to watch our national sports at all, there should be an opportunity for all to watch the game we all love, fuck them and their exclusivity.
Ads or no ads, no recording etc etc there loads of options, Sky as it stands is a failing business hence they’re taking this action, they’re far too late.
a2014 European Court ruling which found that streams on people’s computers were temporary not permanent files and therefore not necessarily the object of an act of theft.
Saint I think thats what I said, I think you should be chatting to BT, it doesn’t matter what laws pass or don’t by the way streaming football isn’t going to go away, they can have your isp and you can get another, they need to change as the blag is here to stay, this isn’t limewire.
Oh, ffs. More proof positive that the reason people stream is because the media business model is so poor that they can’t make money due to them all trying to extract the most money they can out of the punters…e.g. Sky & BT Sport who paid over the odds for footie screening rights.
What is the likelihood that they would catch anyone doing this?
What else do you get a 10 year sentence for?
Interestingly, Murdoch and co have made a number of visits to 10 Downing St. over the last few months. I wonder whether the Digital Economy Act and those visits are in any way connected…
Just updated to 17.1 Krypton a couple of weeks ago Tokes. Needed a little tinkering, a couple of settings, a reinstall of the odd plug in, nothing much tho’.
Performance is not much different to Jarvis 16 tbh … maybe a tad more responsive but I don’t know if that was the upgrade or because I had a bit of of a clean up at the same time … clearing caches/redundant plug in’s etc…
It still takes forever to exit’/shutdown and needs to be forced occasionally, for no obvious reason.
I have two boxes, updated both to 17.1 Kypton last week. One has a Wookie build and works fine now, the other is bespoke with loads of Japanese stuff of the Mrs and some more unusual add-ons. That one won’t work at all now. I can probably sort it but just can’t be arsed at the moment.
What do people on here usually use, builds or bespoke?
Also are any of the paid add-ons any good? GB mentioned a sports one last week. I have only ever used free stuff but would be interested in a good sports one that is completely reliable.
sportsmania.rocks, £60 a year IIRC, not just sport but some movies and TV as well. Can’t fault their HD streams for football, watched the boxing on demand the other day too, that was superb quality.
I’m using Kodi 17 on my tablets, PC and android box, I don’t have any problems but then again I use a bog standard build.
