Single use plastics will be banned by Oct 23 in England.
they also said this
Defra says it is considering introducing a Deposit Return Scheme for drinks containers.
didnt we already have that with the Corona bottles and the flip top beer bottles?

I’ve noticed that drinks cans occasionally have a note on the Australian Dollar price, giving the deposit value. So I assume they still use the system, perhaps @OzSaintDave could elucidate?

Pretty sure I saw a documentary saying similar. Can’t remember what it was called though.

Yes! At least in the central Australian states we have it.

10 cents (like 3 pence in conversion!) per soft drink bottle or aluminium can, anything bar a wine bottle (dumbasses!) and they also take flavoured drink carton boxes. Unsure of what you lot have in a match?

We take it to a recycle depot, they count cans, give cash and then no one really knows what magic or mischief goes on after this point coz we have our cash and most aren’t evolved enough to ask where does it go?

To my understanding the empty bottles are crushed and transported to the east of Ozland and recycled into plastic use items, which are being phased out. At least I’ve wondered and looked on the googletron and am in front of 95% of our population

They were protesting at an opera house that has just installed a 67m wind turbine

ā€˜Tards

Maybe people should start protesting at forest greens ground seeing as the owner bankrolls these bastards

Would you have said they same about the suffragettes at the races? You might get upset with them ā€˜inconveniencing the public’ but that is the whole point of protest, to inconvenience and thus get voice heard. I suspect most would have more empathy with the methods if they agreed with with the cause of protest…

Seems to me that the country as a whole has become less tolerant of alternative POV … and the right wing politicians obviously don’t get the irony - shouted loudest that Brexit was all about democracy, yet forget that the right to protest is a democratic right, not the right to protest as long as I am not inconvenienced in any way by it…
