Has the Brexit argument been effectively won so

Which bit of emergency meeting called by the Bank of England doesn’t worry the Leave voters?

The country has voted for recession.

It has voted for even more right wing policies.

It has voted in support of a man who wants to escalate the dismantling of the NHS.

I’m not too worried about hanging out with the general public, I’m met them before, and I’ve seen the damage they can do with a small cross in a box, but honestly, what do they think is going to happen?!

Last year they voted for cuts to the NHS and benefits, now they want us to cut off trade with foreigners.

We look a little bit like a small-minded nation of backward-looking pensioners who have little grasp of the big picture.

Immigration won’t change, there will be no more money for the NHS, and trade deals with emerging economies will be very difficult to negotiate.

So hop aboard everyone - welcome to the new recession you asked for - the one where this government can impose even further austerity but this time they can blame the Leave vote.

.

The NHS thing is interesting as it is a, possibly “The” truly British Institution next only to the Queen so while there are continual fuck ups when people don’t realise that continually trying to apply ‘cost savings’ to it is idiocy I really think that none of the parties as is would want to get rid of it. For one thing there actually is nothing to wholesale replace it so removing it will simply mean selling it off to the highest bidder and given the timing that will not happen for several generations (well, 2 at least) because there are too many barriers (particularly how the NHS is viewed by the people) and while there is still some form of democracy (as has been the case … off to write elsewhere …) then it is always possible that there could be a swing to the (proper) left and the UK or should that now just be “K” (?) - aka Special K - doesn’t have the separation of powers (yet) that the US has so you have to look at what might happen in the next election - I believe Corbyn becomes more electable in some ways while outside of the E non-very U.

So - there are still checks and balances in place as this vote shows. As Pap presciently said about Corbyn and this, I wonder if he’s been reading teabags? Certainly something has got him tied in with the Zeitgeist - any info on your secret Pap?

Spending too long waffling on an internet forum so enjoy your Summer and … can’t think of anything that wouldn’t be capable of being construed as patronising or possibly inflammatory so will just say hope we get a good manager and with the league next year.

Ta ra.

But their influence is unaccountable except to Parliament, which could be said to be undemocratic in itself! They have an influence on UK policy and as such it could be argued they need to be elected and accountable.

The sad part of this all is the vitriol being thrown around before and after the vote, its happened, it may of gone your way or not but most of all we now need to make a plan.

Anyway for those talking about leaving uk, I’ve worked and lived in France, Germany, Australia, Singapore, South Africa and now Netherlands and all I can say is the world is an awesome place, go out ad explore.

Agree and well said.

And if you do want to work abroad get in there quick, because soon you might need your passport just to go to Scotland!

Maybe a wall is the answer…and we’ll get them to pay for it.

Lets move on together, work with Europe and get a socialist caring Government in the next election.
I’ll add Cameron was very gracious in his speech and my respect for him has shot up.

Of course they should be elected and accountable. Isn’t that what democracy is all about? Have no problem with a second house but let’s vote these people in rather than populate it with people there because of an accident of birth or for doing favours for political parties!

what on earth about this vote and the last election makes you think a caring socialist government will be elected next time?

I don’t know what will happen with Labour now, the issue is Corbyn will be ousted, and they won’t go that far left again…

If anything it’s going to be a further Tory majority.

Without defending hereditary and paid for peerages, what purpose does an elected second house achieve when elected by the same people?

would the concept be to elect them in the third year of parliament?

Are you really that fucking stupid, or is it your online troll personna who is presented as the numptycunt? I dont know whether to get angry with you or just laugh at your reasonable trolling attempt here as it is actually quite funny… but just to play along for now…

  1. Given the Scottish situation, even before the lurch to the right we will now see with Boris and Farage,we are unlieky to see a centre let alone left wing government again… for a long long time… they have managed to convinve mid England to be suspicious and ignorant just like middle USA… our country’s decsions are decided upon by the Sun Readers of Britain - how fucking democratic is that… we are not governed by an elite, we never have been, we are governed by the numptycunts of Britain…

  2. Cameron - if you think playing for a bit of sympathy with one small tiny speech is enough to excuse the fuckers shit he has dealt out to this country since taking the reigns the you are fucking king of the numptycunts… the fact you still try and convince us all of your ‘left’ wing tendencies, but your history of posting links to EDL is not forgotten by some .

Barry, nice sentiments about unity but we just voted not to work with Europe…

That was the whole point of the last three months.

I suppose it achieves what the current bunch achieve, only they are democratically elected to do so. How it works I really don’t care as long as I as a tax payer have a say.

Thedemographics are scary for age and education level…but not surprizing, sadly.

The article says Leave won by a substantial margin. Is approx 1.3m a substantial margin? It is hardly a landslide is it?
