:hccc: 🏏 Hampshire Cricket!

And LIVE!!! on SKY!! today and the next three days too, while I look for a new job… Although the commentators were genuinely complimentary about how we batted in the conditions, entertaining it was not. With rain interruptions and more patient, dogged batting (hopefully) to come, this is Sky scraping the barrel for some live coverage before the season ends. I will be one of the few watching

Superb opening for Hampshire with @ daws128 & @ slug_7 helping secure another bonus point: http://goo.gl/ZwIYi6

They have just broken for lunch. Need 53 off 13 overs after lunch to secure another point, which I am sure they will go for. Vince said this morning once we get past 110 overs we will look to have a bowl to secure more bonus points, as tomorrow looks like a wash out

Yes @ daws128! Exceptional innings from @ daws128 (102*) who reaches his deserved century just before lunch! # LVCC

So a fantastic mini-session as @ daws128 & @ slug_7 help Hampshire reach 292-4 at lunch: http://goo.gl/ZwIYi6

Shirley they only need 8 more runs to get another batting point, 58 to get another 2.

13 overs left of the 110 I say go for it…

Championship Points

Win: 16, Tie: 8, Draw: 5

Batting bonuses:
  • 200-249 runs - 1pt
  • 250-299 runs - 2pts
  • 300-349 runs - 3pts
  • 350-399 runs - 4pts
  • 400 and over - 5pts
Bowling bonuses:
  • 3-5 wkts - 1pt
  • 6-8 wkts - 2pts
  • 9-10 wkts - 3pts

Bonus points apply for first 110 overs of the first innings only. If teams finish level on points, most wins determines placing, then fewest defeats, then most points from head-to-head results, then most wickets taken, then most runs scored.

How many teams get relemagated at the end of the season…

8 overs since lunch, 62 runs , 5 overs in the 110 left, son only another 46 needed…

And it’s now 400-8 - Dawson finally gone for 140, but Berg has hit 27 runs off his first nine deliveries, including five consecutive fours.

Stop press - 400-9 declared.

Brilliant afternoon session for Hampshire with the visitors 21-1 (379 behind) at tea: http://goo.gl/ZwIYi6

Nice one!

Yorks 4 down. All round brilliant performance today. Its now a shame that tomorrow will likely be washed out. As said before (elsewhere) if only the season started 4/5 weeks ago…

Take maximum points for a draw here and it could still be possible in the last game…

A probing start from the Hants bowlers but the players now departing the field due to bad light. # LVCC

Don’t know what it’s like to So’ton but here in Bournemouth it’s grey as grey can be!!

Play called off for today - four balls bowled, one run scored, no wicket taken. Let’s just hope we can at least get all our bowling points tomorrow. Not much chance of a captains’ agreement to get a result I’d have thought.

Well, very bold by Hants. Deal done - Yorks declared, we have forfeited our 2nd innings (and chance of 2 extra bonus points) and Yorks need 304 to win today. Sun is out, should get a full day no problem.

Risky, we might lose, but Dale said we have to win one of our last two games and may not get the chance at Notts. Strap in for today then…

Both captains have agreed that Yorkshire will declare now at their overnight score of 97-4 with Hants then forfeiting their innings. # LVCC

Hampshire Cricket@ hantscricket 6m6 minutes ago

This will mean that @ Yorkshireccc will require 304 runs to win in 96 overs with Hampshire needing 10 wickets to win the match. # LVCC

Well, I wasn’t expecting that, as my previous post makes plain.

First wicket down, Yorks 13/1.

A risk worth taking I’d say.

Sussex and Somerset will be happy to play out a draw and take the points which would leave us with a must-win at Notts.

Go for it.

AAaaaaaampshire!!
