:hccc: 🏏 Hampshire Cricket!

I hope this is not a prelude to a Saints great escape in 2016

Incredible - I really did not see this coming…

This would be the greatest of escapes.

Stayed up by two points!

You only have to look back to the game at Taunton where we followed on 390 behind and they couldn’t bowl us out in two days.

A great effort after such a poor start.

Lessons need to be learned, but today, it’s all about waving goodbye to Sussex!

Fab. Could just see Cricinfo coming up with ‘match delayed by rain’ with nine wickets down. Thank you Cricket weather gods!

Absolutely brilliant! We looked dead several times this season, including 3 days ago. Amazing turnaround! Throw in Fidel signing for another year and what a difference three days makes!:beer::tada:

I think that was more nail biting than sitting at the Dell on the last game of the season in our “struggling” years…

You can all thank me, with the tide turning on page 11, when I posted this! GET IN!

Briggs released early and signs for Sussex on a 3 year deal.. Not altogether surprising with two youngsters pushing through and Briggs failing (so far) to have much impact in Championship games, but he clearly is a top player in the short format and we may well miss him.

Like you say, Bucks, this isn’t surprising news; nevertheless, it’s disappointing, not least because it seems to be another example of a Hampshire youngster failing to fulfil his potential. Of course, he could go on to do that with another club, which will be particularly galling if that other club is Sussex.

Anyway, I’ve been meaning to say how nice it was to return from my travels and read the excitement of Hampshire’s tail-end of the season, and ultimately their great escape, so vividly encapsulated on this thread. It was great to see so many posters contributing and good to ‘see’ you again, Bucks. However, special mention to Btripz - sterling work, Bob!

Good stuff, Bob.

I’m pretty hopeful for next season, in all formats.

I reckon we’ve assembled a pretty decent squad.
