232-3…It’s all going to shit.
Again.
Have confidence RB, one wicket will lead to another and another…

See RB, what did I say

go on, make it happen again…
Oh, I’ve just looked and it has!
Seven down.
Two wickets needed for victory…against a side crumbling faster than a fresh croissant.
They’ve lost the last five for 17.
Just been in a meeting, come back and it’s 266/8

What a time to take your maiden first-class five-wicket haul! @ Brad_wheal clean bowls Read (23) and @ TrentBridge are 287-9. One more!
Yup - Wheal 6-51 Hants win!!!
Is it one up one down??
NEXT season is one up/one down - unfortunately this season is one up/two down
So a really good idea to stay up, as it’ll be v hard to get back
Surrey won today as well - and went to second place in the table - but we’ve got a game in hand and we still play them
Here’s a more realistic table - Surrey and Warks are the ones we could catch
| | Games | Points | Points per game | |
| Middlesex | 12 | 173 | 14.4 | | |
| Yorkshire | 10 | 137 | 13.7 | | |
| Somerset | 11 | 138 | 12.5 | | |
| Durham | 11 | 133 | 12.1 | | |
| Lancashire | 11 | 128 | 11.6 | | |
| Warwickshire | 12 | 134 | 11.2 | | |
| Surrey | 13 | 143 | 11.0 | | |
| Hampshire | 12 | 117 | 9.8 | | |
| Nottinghamshire | 12 | 103 | 8.6 | | |

SO5 we need to discuss the demise of the team more often! GTFI
Definitely - ‘certainly not two worse teams than us’, ‘can’t see us taking twenty wickets’… great to proved wrong. Hopefully thay can kick on - wasn’t there some talk of Edwards coming back too?
Yeah, SO5, there was some talk on Radio Solent today of Edwards possibly being available for a couple of matches at the end of the season – he’s at home in the West Indies atm, apparently.
I think that Ervine and Vince will also be available for the next matches, although Dawson will be missing for a while following his call-up to England’s ODI squad.
It was great to see some of Hampshire’s younger players– particularly Wheal – contributing to today’s much-needed win!
Anyway, still a maximum of 96 points available from the four remaining fixtures, so I’m still hopeful that we can escape relegation.
