I donât necessarily disagree but youâre making my point for me concering the Unions self interest and un Union.
Also if you take a loan out you have to be responsible enough to pay it back, the Government were elected so the people in some ways had their say, 13%gdp on pensions, retiring at 50 and gold plated pensions for a small economy is crazy, Iâm a socialist and what they were doing wasnât socialism it was a total disregard for that and a selfish blind National agenda.
The EU is one big selfish trade network or a selfish National interest vanity project, do the Germans care more for the Union or their exposure?
Letâs move this baby to the next pageâŚ

According to early polls, no is winning 60% - 40%.
I am genuinely surprised, I thought theyâd bottle it, now for the wrath of the Union, their actions probably vindictive will at least show what they are.

I am not. The Greek people know how viable their plan has been; it has just been the EU and the media telling us that theyâd be willing to sign up for more of the same. It will be interesting to see what the EU does moving forward. One thing it canât do is continue to describe Syriza as some kind of leftist aberration that the people donât support. It appears that the Greek government has the mandate it sought, and a much stronger bargaining position.

True but now the EU can issue anything what it seems fit and can pass it back to the Greeks and say you voted for this, Brussels canât give too much as Spain, Portugal, Italy and many others are watching very closely.
For the home of democracy a turnout of 63% in an election as important as any in a lifetime absolutely shocking.
Greeceâs finance minister resigns citing that he recognises his presence in negotiations isnât helpful.

Itâs an understandable shame. Probably got something to do with him actually being qualified for the job*.
*And being very provocative by referring to the EU as âterroristsâ over the weekend

Minister No More!
The referendum of 5th July will stay in history as a unique moment when a small European nation rose up against debt-bondage.
Like all struggles for democratic rights, so too this historic rejection of the Eurogroupâs 25th June ultimatum comes with a large price tag attached. It is, therefore, essential that the great capital bestowed upon our government by the splendid NO vote be invested immediately into a YES to a proper resolution â to an agreement that involves debt restructuring, less austerity, redistribution in favour of the needy, and real reforms.
Soon after the announcement of the referendum results, I was made aware of a certain preference by some Eurogroup participants, and assorted âpartnersâ, for my⌠âabsenceâ from its meetings; an idea that the Prime Minister judged to be potentially helpful to him in reaching an agreement. For this reason I am leaving the Ministry of Finance today.
I consider it my duty to help Alexis Tsipras exploit, as he sees fit, the capital that the Greek people granted us through yesterdayâs referendum.
And I shall wear the creditorsâ loathing with pride.
We of the Left know how to act collectively with no care for the privileges of office. I shall support fully Prime Minister Tsipras, the new Minister of Finance, and our government.
The superhuman effort to honour the brave people of Greece, and the famous OXI (NO) that they granted to democrats the world over, is just beginning.
More from Paul Mason of Channel 4 news.
Thanks Pap - will be following him now
Congrats to all that voted correctly, btw. This site called the result 100%. Others didnât do so well.
I was shocked by the news today, I didnât realise Greece had a finance minister.
