This is the big problem.
Buying them one at a time and not telling Mrs C_S worked really well for me

This is my plan with the Wusthofs
I am cooking for guests tomorrow (after the game) - lobster mac & cheese to Angela Hartnett’s recipe. Spent most of today brewing and concentrating the lobster stock.
Mrs C_S has just suggested we have lunch at 2pm
Have explained about football the time needed to cook the menu she agreed to…
With a bit of planning I should be ok for just after 3pm, which she has grudgingly agreed to.
Poofs.
Wooah…steady on there sweet cheeks
The family can only do lunch at 1pm local time.
So alarm call to get the Turkey in about 7am.
And I should be sitting down to eat at exactly kick off.
And nope, Easter here will not allow me to watch TV during the lunch.
I stand by my remark.
Good that you’re in sync with your masculinity…
What you need is a good chopper
You meant a big chopper?
I’m sorry, I appear to have wandered into the Blue Oyster. I’ll see myself out.
That’s firmly dating you
So, Easter is “a big thing”. Besides breaking lockdown restrictions in Churches, Poles have a host of traditions taking baskets of food & decorated eggs to Church to be blessed (at 6am!)
Also key is Breakfast we have to wear Sunday best, there are candles & icons and Zurek.
Now I hate it but i still have to eat the cold cuts as a “sandwich” 4 hours before Turkey.
Anyway every Grandma has her own recipe but in case you want to try it
I feel your pain. With the relieving of lockdown I’ve been commanded to partake of a couple of hours family walk today. From 12 until 2.
I had no idea you were American.
“… But it is always sour, salty, and creamy at the same time, which makes it unlike almost anything else…”
Now where have I heard that description before?
In your naval days, perhaps?
Steady on there matelot
