Letting it cool before I cut it and try it
For my weird dietary needs, I sometimes try Vegan dishes. Some are pants. This one worked.
Roasted cauliflower curry, with oven toasted almonds and then served with coriander, mint and pomegranates. The rice is basmati but cooked with fennel and saffron. Lastly, the mushrooms have added chilli
Just had fish stew with:
Fresh cod fillets cut up into chunks
Tin of chopped tomatoes
Couple of roasted red peppers
New potatoes
Capers
Finished with some feta cheese
Just wish I had some crusty bread to mop up afterwards
Could do with some shellfish but yum.
Yeah that would finish it off quite well
Yep, plus onion and a fish stockpot. Very much like a simple bouillabaisse, or spanish zarzuela.
I made my current favourite.
Onions, loads of garlic, one big tomato, mushrooms, spinach, veg stock, fish fillets, few prawns, olives, few chilli flakes, salt and plenty of pepper, squeeze of lemon.
I eat a variation of that at least 2/3 times a week. Sometimes I’ll put cannelini beans in it and take out something else. I fucking love it but Mrs Fatso isn’t a fan. Luckily she’s not in so I get to eat that and wash it down with wine.
They went overboard on the presentation then?
Durian
The Durian wa brought into the restaurant why its in a plastic container. the waghu came with side dish of beansprouts rice ect presentation who cares the beef was beautiful and the durian was not far behind
Its lovely
The Durian in KL is better than Labuan it has a caramalised egg custard texture and taste sweeter than Labuan which has a more bitter cocoa flavour
But stinks to high heaven tbf
You are a wrong’un
Everything smells it is another subjective thing, a lot of Malaysians cant believe that a foreigner loves durian. My Filipina wife hates it.
I did win a bet in Singapore that I couldn’t eat a bowl of durian m. I might have failed to mention that I had a stinking cold at the time
I first had durian as an ice cream dessert in Indonesia it was beautiful. Tried the fruit and apart from the texture of the older fruits have just loved it “the king of fruits”
We do get now Durian ice pops offshore now similar to the Milk lollies we got in the UK.
I have been told that before for other reasons though.
If you can get past the smell then it tastes ok I guess. Not one I’ll be rushing out to fill the fruit bowl with tbh
