Lady Slowlane has an old Laptop running un-updateable Windows OS so I thought I buy her a new one.
She doesn’t demand much from it, just shopping and the occasional checking profiles of potential new staff.
So how about a Chromebook, she has a Google Account so the familiarity will inspire confidence in someone who isn’t up on Geekery.
Go for it, I have 2 and I have no problems with them.
How old is her laptop though, you can install ChromeOS Flex on it, that would save you money.
If you do buy a Chromebook don’t go for an Ultra cheap one
Good, (or should I say awesome).
Lady Slowlane’s old laptop is a refurbished Lenovo Think Pad which is at least 10 years old but with upgraded gubbins. I bought it for her about 4 years ago as it was built like a Battleship whereas my current Lenovo has bits falling off it all over the place. They don’t make 'em like they used to.
Edit: Just bought…
HP Chromebook Plus 14" , Intel Core i3 N-series Processor , 8 GB RAM , 256 GB Flash Storage , Intel UHD Graphics , FHD Display , Up to 11hrs battery , Chrome OS , Dual Speakers , Silver , 14a-nf0000sa
Reduced from £430 to £247
Not a massive amount of storage but then I guess Lady Slowlane won’t be using a lot
I bet she has more educational video’s than me so she will require a lot of space.
Yeah she’s always showing me how to do things.
