It has pictures then?
I am watching a show called FEUD. I think it is gd show! I have watch two episodes so far, and I watched them the whole way through which is more than I can say for Expanse.
I suspect it is based on True Story, because it is about Real People. It is set in olden times, I would say prob in the 50s or 60s. What you have got, is two film stars called Joan Crawford and Betty Something, and they fkn hate each other, because they have been rivals for years. But now they are getting old & dried up & ugly & bitter (which is a sad thing that happens to women but not men rip) and they canât get gd roles anymore, because no-one wants to watch films about women you donât want to bang.
But then their last chance comes along, and they have to make a film Together called âWhatever happened to BJsâ (which is a film i never saw, but I kind of want to now), and the show is about the making of that film, and how they hate on each other, and compete for more close-ups, or less close-ups, and leak stories to the press that the other one pads her bra, and who gets to bang the director, and stuff like that.
It is gd show, with gd acting and gd sets and gd general interest for gays. I would give it a B+. I think the script could be bit sharper.
I saw some stuff once
Watched the first episode of Big Little Lies last night. So far its a bit like Desparate Housewives but it does show promise. Reese Witherspoon, Nicloe KIdman. Laura Dern and Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood) among the cast.
Iâd really like to kiss Emma Willy.
Does she have one???
Latest episode of Fortitude - OMFG!!! Not for the fainthearted.
Homeland has improved too. Apart from the fact that Quinn is now seemingly indestructible.
Great episode of The Expanse this week, taking place on Earth, the orbit of Venus and the flight path into Ganymede. I mention all this because despite the scene swapping, itâs an admirably lean show. There doesnât seem to be a scene wasted, or filler.
Some of my favourite parts are now taking place on Earth, mostly because because of Shohreh Agdashlooâs brilliant portrayal of Chrisjen Avasarvala, a UNN mandarin, completely unelected, swerving elected office because she âlikes to get shit doneâ.
This week saw a Martian delegation go to Earth for a summit. Itâs brilliantly done. The Martians, used to a life in dimly lit and restrictive biodomes, have huge difficulties on disembarkation. The light is blinding. One dude spews his lunch on the floor immediately. Sergeant Draper, our main Martian focus this season, opens only one window pane at a time to begin with, unable to cope with the full vista.
Iâve not read the novels, but there were a few scenes in this weeks episode that felt like clear attempts to get over something a lot of adaptations would probably skip. The creator clearly thought our solar system was interesting enough, and on this evidence, itâs difficult to disagree.
Who needs warp drive when youâve got full burn under the glow of Sol?
Finding Homeland alright at mo
Having finished 7 seasons of TNG back to normality this week.
Designated Survivor.
Well done Sutherland Jnr in managing to reboot 24 for middle age.
Good old fashioned conspiracy theory TV. Not too twisted not too obvious perfect binge material.
Now back to TNG Movies. Why was I so late to Netflix?
Go
Iâm watching 13 Reasons Why on netfux. Itâs gd show, but itâs bumming me out. Itâs v.sadness. Itâs one of them teenage angst will they/wonât they love story things, but you know they wonât, because the female lead kills herself before it even starts rip.
I am into Vikings at the moment. Not like bearâs 2015 trip to Norway âinto Vikingâ but just that TV program and reading a bit about the history + last Kingdom which is the BBC poundshop version of the HBO one. It is pretty good but more or less just a holder for Game of Thrones. In some ways better than GOT as no neverending story dragon flying scenes which I think might be common in the next series.
If you havenât seen either, it is worth watching Vikings on Kodi or netflix etc. It starts a bit history channel but after a while they discover this is not working and HBO start taking over with some more axe killings, rape, pillaging etc.
Yep Iâve started to watch Vikings on Amazon PrimeâŠliking it at the momentâŠonly into episode 5 of the first series so a bit early to give an overview but itâs heading in the right direction.
Have just started series 4 of Vikings. Compulsive viewing. Highly recommended
Sick with it @lifeintheslowlane
Vikings is excellent. Girls has improved no end now that Lena has discovered how effective the use of pathos can be. It was very moving last night, although still including the usual WTF moments. Adam Driver has also started to act properly which makes a big difference. Big Little Lies is shaping up better than I thought it would after the first episode. Still a bit like Desparte Housewives, but darker and funnier. Niclole Kidman also gets naked a lot which is no bad thing. Broadchurch has probably been overdone and this time round there are just too many suspects to make it believable, but it is still worth watching. Black Sails is still producing the goods - a fine ripping yarn with plenty of adult action! Homeland lost its way for a while but is back on track this series. Catastrophe is a good old fashion domestic comedy brought up to date with âadultâ themes.
In my quest to get completely geeked out on the Star Trek Universe, weâve moved o to DS9.
We did it because there are so many links/characters/jokes common to TNG & DS9 so we wated to get them out the way hile still fresh.
I know DS9 is revered, but my God the first Season was amost as turgid as watching a Saints team play without Gabbiadi up front.
Yes it is painting on a smaller canvas but it was almost as if it went too âlocalisedâ - plus the characters in S1 really donât grip you I mean Sissoko is as bland as his ex- Magpie based namesake - saviours of the show are Quark & his straight-man Odo.
I know the show becomes the stuff of legends, but I have been reminded why I gave up bothering to watch it. Only more seasons to go then can start on The Expanse
I mean Jeez, I almost gave up and watched Bear Gryllsâ Biggest British AdventureâŠ
I am rewatching Hello Ladies which is excellent and massively underrated. Sure it is American and they have to cheese it up a bit in parts but it is pretty funny and better than anything Gervais has done in 15 years.
Sneaky Pete is really good. On Amazon Prime if that helps anyone
i saw pilot of that show like a yr ago i didnât know it was Series Now. It had pheobe from friends brother in it.
