Do you then have to sign in again?
Nope, just whip the usb out of the stick, leave a few seconds then pop it back in. Youāll see the ap updating on the Home Screen. Only takes a minuteā¦
You know youāre a car freak when you thinkā¦Yeah thatās a good ideaā¦
Iām planning on watching the Saints later, so stand by for a panicked text when I canāt find the fucker.
On ibo just click on livetv then click on to EFL championship then Southampton and hey presto, no more stream hunting (live near kick off)!
Itās similar on most apps.
PS itās not me watching fucking Big Brother.
Iāve got something similar, a small box about the size of a cigarette packet which is very comprehensive, thousands of pages of movies updated daily as and when they are released from the studios. Likewise TV series, all sport, music etc, the history goes back years. Live TV from around the world. As you say itās brilliant for when you go abroad, I have mine with me at the moment in Thailand, will be watching the Saints shortly. Iām a bit of a luddite with these things, havenāt a clue how it all works, I assume its all streamed, but you wouldnāt know it when watching, itās 100% perfect. There are about 50 pages of live music concerts from down the ages which I spend a lot of time watching. The wonders of modern technology.
I see.
Love Island man.
Itās lucky thereās nobody young reading this. Theyād have no clue what that meant.
Got a Meta Quest 3 last week and itās a little bit mind-blowing.
Spent most of my time with it playing a mini golf game but have just finished Space Channel 5 VR.
So Iāve spent a couple of weeks on this VR lark. To address the one itable @scotty question, no, I have not done VR Porn. Meta Quest is a Facebook thing. I worry about livecasting my vinegar strokes to friends and family.
I will say, as a low vision man, that itās something of a revelation. I think the tech could help a lot of elderly, infirm and the disabled.
I expect the tickety boo crowd will enjoy it just as much
Indeed.
Having been impressed by a VR experience recently at an art exhibition, I did a bit of research and bought a meta quest 2. What a fucking waste of time and money. I canāt think of a single reason to recommend it unless itās for gaming or social networking, and even for those I canāt believe there arenāt vastly superior options. Iād intended to use it for stuff like travelogues, immersive art etc, but Iāve found it near impossible to use. Itās easily the least intuitive entertainment system Iāve ever encountered, as well as the least rewarding. Itās bulky, clumsy, uncomfortable and frustrating beyond description.
Not too pleased with it, if Iām honest
Well for starters if kids played VR games I suspect theyāll be less portly.
Horses for courses I suppose but as someone who has always been geeky about tech and have been pretty jaded with a lot of the so called progress, this seems like a major step forward.
But apart from that, what are the good points?
Asking for anyone who has no idea what the F the two of you are banging on about
It ought to be good. The system provided at the Monet exhibition was really impressive, and part of my wanting to try a home version was because I thought such a thing might be great for my disabled mother. But the whole āMetaā (facebook) bullshit is one of the things that ruins it. Zuckerberg is a whole new level of cunt, not that Musk is any better.
Well, some things
You can watch films and such on a cinema screen with the added benefit of not having cunts around you.
YouTube has 360 degrees videos which are pretty ool. I stood in the middle of Red Square and Iāve never been there.
Been using an app called Open Brush which is free and allied you to paint stuff in 3D.
VR has resurrected shooting games that involve actually point a gun at something and reliably shoot it. This is something we havenāt been able to do with our flat screens
Thereās an app called World which streams Google Street View and letās you walk through it
OK apart from the gaming is it really any good and worth buying in to? Is it really going to be a game changer?
Genuine question
I havenāt tried half the apps yet, but there are some good youTube videos out there going over the non game stuff.
The top end Quest 3 is 620 quid, and being perfectly home you may need to spend more. I bought a better headrest which incorporates a battery pack. Fifty notes on Amazon.
Iām also going to get lens inserts so I donāt have to wear my glasses. Another 60 notes.
Initial outlay aside, itās pretty cheap to run. The most expensive product on the platform is 45 quid. Most stuff is between right and twenty five quid.
Ā£600+ to pretend youāre in Russia and shoot at phantoms.
I did that too. The fucking things look as if they ought to fit, but itās such a miniscule tolerance on the tiny clips that one of them just pops right off every five minutes. They also sit too close to the eyeballs, despite the spectacles insert supplied with the headset, so I was forever removing the set to clean the lens misting.
