Whenever my mother has sent stuff back they’ve always refunded her money immediately. She sends back more shite than she keeps, and has been for years now. Never had any sort of issue and her returns number well into the hundreds.

I think the days of the returns system working the way it does are numbered. Shop over the road does it and they just have all their returns in a big sack. Most of this shit isn’t actually defective, so anyone could go in and start lifting high value goods.

Well I’ve tried to return two things. A Makita drill battery and a radio controlled car. Amazon didn’t originally acknowledge that they had received the battery even though I had a delivery note and they wouldn’t refund me until they received the battery. Getting them to actually acknowledge the delivery note was a ballache.

The radio controlled car was such a fucking palava that I ended up keeping it after 3 hours of wasted time in their chat system. I will admit that asking each member of the service team why Jeff Bezos hadn’t yet ended world hunger probably didn’t help my case much but I don’t really know that for sure.

Whenever I’ve taken her stuff to the post office, they scan the qr code or the barcode at the counter. The refund is made immediately that scan is complete, they don’t wait to receive the item.

Well the only possible explanation I can think of for our different experiences is that we are both existing in separate time periods with different levels of service and this website is somehow the knot linking our realities. What time is it where you are?

Hang on, I’ll check the clock in my DeLorean.

I’ve realised what the difference was. The post office refused to take a lithium ion battery so I had to arrange a special courier (UPS) for that return.

Here’s a great idea, a new safety feature on Volvos, automatic braking system that detects an obstacle and stops the car. :+1::+1: It must be reliable for the CEO to test it out by standing in the road…

Oh. :unamused::flushed:

Fucking hell. Even ED-209 gave you 20 seconds to comply.

Hi GB

So three months in and yeah overall they’re a thumbs up from me. They are dead easy to pair with any device that I have thrown at them which is a plus.

The sound quality is good, not brilliant but I wasn’t after brilliant. They handle treble and bass really well which for my ears is good enough; I spent last weekend dancing around the room to the Prodigy on full blast, acting 20 being not 20.

The battery is amazing. Whenever I put them on a lady says ā€œbattery life is highā€ and plays a little jingle. I use the headphones maybe 8 hours a day and a 20 minute charge is all that I need.

The only downside is switching between modes. At times the only sound options are ā€˜normal’ and ā€˜transparency’; ā€˜noise cancelling’ is off the menu. So I have to go into the phone app and force it through. Yeah it’s annoying but not a deal breaker.

So overall I’d give these a solid 9 out of 10. They’re going for Ā£63.99 at the moment on Amazon which for decent budget headphones is a great deal. Thanks to you and Bob for the recommendation, you came up trumps.

Thinking of getting serious about sim racing. Haven’t got a wheel yet, but looking at one of these bad boys whenever one becomes available.

Quite happy with the new screen

Just ordered a Google chromecast. Never used one (or any of its competitors), but have been considering for a while and I am persuaded of the benefits :+1:

Hmmm, I’ve never been too impressed with my Chromecast but then I don’t think I’ve used it to it’s full potential…

What does it actually do. I already have 2 smart TVs so would it give me anything extra that I don’t already have?

Which version do you have?

For @lifeintheslowlane. The current version is called Chromecast with Google TV. This plugs into the back of your TV and has all the major TV / catch up / movie / music apps built in, plus remote control, voice activation etc. It allows you to view in 4K where possible. It also has a Web browser and very simple search to find any entertainment you might want.

The Amazon Fire Stick 4k does much the same thing but several reviews I read favoured the Google version.

It depends on your TV and what apps you have as standard with that.

Yeah, I have an aged old v1 that is dumber than dumb

This is a question I find myself asking repeatedly nowadays, whenever new tech appears on the scene.:unamused:
