⛺ 🎤 Glastonbury 2020. The Big 50 🎂

Well, at least the crowd is all under 25 years of age.

Edgy.

@Barry-Sanchez would be proud.

BBC 4 capturing the true essence of Glasto tonight in a way Bazza would never understand. Excellent stuff

The Glasto Chat board is full of people moaning about Metallica.

Best ever year for me was probably 2017. First year in general camping, beautiful weather and the whole left-wing vibe.

Can’t access Iplayer but will get the online & standard BBC TV stuff over the weekend.
Consoling myself with posting “best pics of the year posts” on FB for the time being

Feet up.
Beer in hand
Oasis 1994 on the Beeb
Thunderstorm rolling in.
Almost…
Not even close to being there but it’ll do.

Just watched the Stones - one of the best live bands of all time

Same set up/ stage when they came to A u Dhabi later that year. They were absolutely fucking superb.
Give me shelter was up there in life changing concert moments.

For many years I was gutted I missed Beyonce - went to Queens of the Stone Age & left early.
Watching her now, my pain has been eased. It is a wonderful TV set/show amazing energy/choreography BUT from 150 yards away where we would have been standing I with no way to see the stage might have been not as good.

I turned over and Love were on and your man there, Arthur, was great. A 2003 performance. I’m really surprised that he could sing like that after all those years…an instantly recognisable voice. Beautiful

Never went to Glastonbury but did Reading half a dozen times

I am a rocker but the best band I saw there was cypress hill - I was two rows from the front and my feet didn’t touch the ground for twenty minutes - hits from the bong.

One of the great rock voices. I saw him the same summer, 2003 at Guildford Festival. Forever Changes has to be in my top five favourite albums of all time. Still dip into it regularly, never get tired of it.

You’re a lucky fella although to be honest I would have thought twice about seeing him live. I’m genuinely surprised he was still alive let alone sounding as good as that. Forever changes is definitely one of the best albums of all time (please note I’m not putting a number on it)

In Jay-Z year I went with the anyone but him on that night.
Obviously I found myself in the crowd. Imagine a Metallica/ABBA fan in all that.
And I loved it. It still shocks me to this day. Still one of the 1st Headline acts I remember, but could never fathom why.
Watching again tonight and now I know. It was his energy, interaction and the bloody brilliant music he murdered.
I would never download a song of his but damn I danced that night & would go again in a heartbeat.
No I wouldn’t. I won free tickets to see him in Abu Dhabi. Gave them away.
I knew it was just
A Glasto moment.

Despite what you might believe to the contrary, there are plenty of Tories at Glastonbury. Normal social cues do not apply. They are probably off their noodle on something that is making them feel nice to begin with. You can normally only spot them in the open at food venues, where they do not say please or thank you.

People who will talk to anybody (e.g. me) find them all the time.

Ahh Virtual Glasto Saturday

This was Elbow in 2014.

Tonight BBC @ show Adele followed by Coldplay from 2016.

I know Chris & the gang are now an anti-band. Uncool. Wouldn’t be seen dead listening to them etc.

But what a show they created on that Sunday night. Flashing wristbands, special guest and some tears for a special moment tribute to Viola Beach  Still one of my magical moments to be a part of that crowd - will never forget that. Even if Dolly was the #glasto moment of that year which will never be beaten

Damn I miss this spot most of all

The Coldplay gig was such an assault on the emotions, will never forget it. TV captured the feel really well.

Dancing to Staying Alive in Wellies, ankle deep in mud…

This… back in the early 90s when I last went the only odd ‘flags’ were stuck next to you and mates tents so that mates could find each other… now it’s seems since every Live set is on TV every fucker has one to try and get noticed… and no one can see the stage? Selfish flag waving ‘look-at-me-I-got-a-ticket-hello-mum-and-katiebitchslapperfrom6L-hafuckingha-you-never-got-one-youstuckup-cunt‘ What is that all about? Back I my day anyone sticking a flag up in front of the pyramid stage would have had shoved up their arse and dropped headfirst in the shit trench
