Yesterday I was spent. I mean, leaving your carry on bag at checkin on the trolley and drifting away…
Today I’ve moved (after 12 hours sleep) to broken.
Just part of the whole experience

I’m enjoying watching @Barry-Sanchez use Kylie’s immense popularity on the Pyramid as some kind of stick to beat the festival with.
I think everyone, including Kylie, knows her music is a bit shit. That said, everyone remembers the tunes and have danced to them in years past in the small hours of the morning.
The other thing that is really going for Ms Minogue is that by all accounts, she is very nice in person. There is also the fact that she was due to perform years ago but had to drop out due to a cancer diagnosis.
I’m not using it as anything, it merely enhances the commercial view I have of the place, I already said padowan I would have watched her, I say it how it is, Glastonbury’s main stages have totally sold out, totally and utterly, the other places the BBC aren’t allowed to see as it may turn off them off.
There is always a legend slot. Kylie is a legend.
The slot isn’t about what musical taste one person has it’s about a musical legacy. Kylie has, like Rick Astley become a much loved legend.
Next year it may be Neil Young, maybe Tom Jones, maybe Cluff Richard.
Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton, Barry Gibb ELO have filled that slot. Kylie was the perfect fit.
Meanwhile the most important message of this year is getting through
Come on lads…I say “lads” as I don’t see our ladies indulging in this judgemental bashing…there is no “bad” music, just music you don’t like.
It’s “The Arts” remember…I love/hate is OK that’s about as far as criticism goes.
Nope, it’s because people don’t want to be filmed when they’re off their heads.
The view from your sofa is probably the best view of the live acts. I will certainly be catching up on some of the gigs I went to on iPlayer.
Unfortunately, it is myopic in every other respect. The coverage doesn’t even start until Friday, two days after the festival starts.
You’ve made my point, the BBC only films commercial interest and don’t what to show people of their heads. (even though I think there’s a market in this)
But they filmed Pyramid stage.
Group of Essex boys next to us were blowing up balloons all day long & totally off their heads.
It’s a Maths thing. BBC shows names old & upcoming.
But around 50k on Pyramid, 35k on Other Stage = less than HALF the people on site.
Also be very careful, you are slipping into the white 40+ trap. Glasto = Contemporary Arts & Music, not Pop not Rock.
It does a brilliant job. We even heard Whales sing on Pyramid
I don’t think they’re allowed to. Festival rules, init.
Legends.
Garth Brooks 148m
Led Zeppelin 111.5m
Billy Joel 82.5m
Elton John 78m
AC/DC 73m
Barbara Streisand 68.5m
All contenders for 50th Legends slot?
All just about able to be rolled out on stage
We have seen ourselves on the TV footage for The Good, The Bad and the Queen and my partner L-Law is all over the Charlatans coverage having been at the front. One of my regrets not going to them but unlikely to ever see Lauryn Hill.
Edit - he is in it a lot. I know as he’s paused it every time he is in shot!
No one here wants 75% going to the under 30’s and 1 year in and you can’t go to the next to give people a chance?
That TRULY is amazing
I have no doubt that if all the regular festival goers on here dropped out, you still wouldn’t get tickets.
If you would like to attend next year I will happily help you, but stop fucking pretending that it’s all about the youth. It’s about you not getting tickets and trying to make everyone else feel miserable about it.
In that respect, I think you’ve failed.
We’re good boys and girls, thank you very much.
It’s the rich boys and girls that see Trangia stoves and airbeds as disposable goods that do most of this.
And mid 30 year olds from, mainly, Essex
It may take longer to recover than I thought.
Mrs P_F has one of those new fangled mop buckets with a pedal that brings out by rotating the mob at speed.
I immediately burst into full Kylie, Spinning Around.
Ffs
That didn’t answer the question, I still say there should be 75% under 30 and 1 year in and 1 for someone else.
Can’t think of a fairer way.
So let me get this straight.
You want 75% under 30s.
And Status Quo to headline?
