Never been a Hozier fan but I was skimming iPlayer this afternoon and dipped into his set on The Pyramid. Cracking band and a good alround gig…not unusual to find an artist who is better live than on record.
Has anyone mentioned…
Its fvcking freezing.
Wind changed 180 degrees temp down 8C and fvck not enough layers.
Liam really cant sing.
But we sang Super Nova & Wonderwall.
Biblical.
Cowering under my umbrella as a wind break as I type this
Cold
Too hot, too cold, can’t use wellies
Did any of you see The Proclaimers?
That’s the thing about Glastonbury, it can be beautiful June weather during the day, sunny and hot, but at night, in that valley it gets fucking cold. I first went in 1981, then every year until 1987 which was my last time. 1981 had fabulous weather the whole weekend, but at night it was cold. I went with my wife, two kids aged 8 and 9 and dog. Drove up from Romsey on the Thursday morning, drove into the main arena, parked on the brow looking down on the Pyramid stage, pitched the tent next to the car, made room for friends to park and pitch tents when they arrived. So so easy and hassle free. Second year, 82, was wet, rained from start to finish, would have been an absolute nightmare today with the amount of people there. We always, like, I’m sure everyone does, had a camping stove. My tip is, whatever the weather, the first items to be packed were hot water bottles. Fill them up and put them in the sleeping bags a couple of hours before crashing out. Believe me it makes such a difference. Cos even when it’s been scorching during the day, in that valley it will be cold at night.
Yeah true, but the last time I went, in ‘97 (I think - the year before Young Adult #1 arrived) it was hell on earth - I’m convinced they shipped the mud in by the lorry load.
They’re fun in the sun though.
Ain’t going again tbh, am doing a @Barry-Sanchez on the sofa.
Kudos to @Intiniki @pap @Polski_Filip
Enjoying the chemical brothers.
Same here, switched over from a lacklustre (imo) Killers set
Today did Frank Turner, Beans on Toast, a rest back at tent in some shade (could hear Hozier anyway), Lizzo, Neneh Cherry, bit of Liam, The Killers (in the front!), tiny bit of Ideis. Can hear the Faithless DJ set here.
Yes great & got my cop pic there
Good crowd lost our voices
Killers turned their album stuff into anthems we sang. Not sure it came out on TV but it was spine tingling
The Pet Shop boys duets were a magic moment but Johnny Marr This Charming Man & Mr Brightside were something special.
Then walked up to Pangea & Fatboy
Eat your heart out bletch
Some people are born stylish, some manage to mimic style and others wear orange hats with pink shirts.
Blue bloke needs orange hat.
