Saw this again last night, at the Concorde. Blown away again by them, they modified the slightly Butlinesque patter between songs that theyâd employed at Andover Lights, and the music came across superbly in the smaller more intimate club setting. Itâs amazing how much sheer quality music Bacharach composed, and it still stands up today. Loved it.
Got my tech sorted but missed the only Gog I wanted to see today - Crowded House. Damn that was a moment a few years ago singing Weather with you in that field.
I expect Billy Elish will be awesome but work tomorrow says no
Seeing Crowded House at Hampton Court Palace tonight.
Shouldnât they be playing in a two up, two down?
Took Mum to see the Stones in Hyde Park yesterday - phenomenal gig, Phoebe Bridgers killed opening for them as well (War on Drugs were shit unfortunately)
Love PhoebeâŚStones are OK too.
Roger Daltrey this evening, at P*rtsm**th Guildhall. Very good indeed, Steve Townshend on guitar (Peteâs brother,) and Steveâs son Ben on drums. Plus a stageful of assorted other musicians, really good show.
Who?
There is a emoji you know.
And a one as well
Saw this last night.
Decent enough show, but donât rush to get tickets for tonightâs final Mayflower performance. Itâs basically like We Will Rock You, a very weak storyline fabricated to hang the hits on. Not bad musically I suppose, but nowhere near as good as a reasonable tribute band. Quite enjoyed it, and we somehow ended up with the added bonus of really excellent seats, but itâs not one Iâd wholeheartedly recommend.
Oye Santana last night at the Concorde. Really excellent, not to be missed if they come round again.
The Skids tonight, at the 1865.
Superb nostalgia, and they were terrific. Played all the stuff youâd expect, plus covers of God Save the Queen, Pretty Vacant and Complete Control.
