I am an old gamer. I have had some genuine wow moments with this hobby. The SNES looked fucking magical when it was released, as did the Playstation. Iāve had a decent PC for years so do not get wowed by much.
I am wowed by the latest Flight Simulator. Wow. Fucking wow. It probably has the claim of being the first true open world game in that you can truly go anywhere in the world, and if youāre connected to the 'net, itāll stream terrain data for wherever you are.
Just showed this to my daughters, not flight geeks in the least. They were wowed too after I flew over Southampton and Liverpool trying to find houses we knew. The ground is there in all its glory, in exactly the right place.
Its funny as I type in Norris Green/West Derby and I fly over Baghdadā¦
Got the kids a switch for Christmas, animal crossing is supposed to be fun so Iāll give that a go.
Unfortunately Barry, the area I live in is dictated by what I can afford, not what I can ponce off the in-laws.
